This review is from: Knight in Black Velvet (Paperback)
Lorne Wilson is traveling across Spain by bike; with a 4 friends, one of them was Sancho a man she was going to school with asked her to come to Spain to meet his homeland.
When she had found her friend Janie in bed with Sancho, Steve Janie's boyfriend left the party, he went back to England. Janie and Sancho went together to southern Spain & Lorne was determined to see Spain alone.
She runs into some teenagers intent on having a good time with a woman alone.
She gets them ticked off enough to try a little more than fun with her, so in steps our hero. Francisco de Vega.
He takes her home because in the fray she hurt her ankle.
Lorne found out that Francisco was a qualified doctor, but that he had given up his quest to be a doctor when he has allowed his mother to take some kids on their boat, the boat had a faulty engine & had exploded in a ball of fire.
Francisco blamed himself & he made his way in life helping anyone he could to make up for his crime.
Lorne shows Francisco he was as innocent as the children on the boat, she shows him love, tenderness & understanding.
This is one of Ms Brooks stand out books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silly dumb blond gets her man, January 20, 2008

Lorne Wilson was making her way across Europe alone back packing & by bike.
She got into a scrap with some Spanish boys who wanted to have a bit of fun with a pretty blond woman alone.
She got them angry & ended up being rescued by not so Knightly Francisco de Vega.
But he couldn't help falling in love with this contrary little spit fire.
He took her to his home & into his heart.
He seemed impatient with her so many times, but really he was very funny.
She was so young & silly but it was a very fun read.
