5.0 out of 5 stars History, legends, and romance--a keeper shelf book!, July 21, 2012
I finished A Knight to Desire a couple days ago and just can't stop thinking about it--you know how it is when the characters stay with you for days. That's when you know you've read a keeper.

Brianna Sinclair was born a seer and a warrior. Her father did all he could to thwart her calling, as it was not befitting a lady, but for naught. She joined the Scottish Templars but the leader, Simon Lockhart, found her out early on. She stayed with the Templars in a diminished role, until the fateful day when he sent her away from battle to protect her.

Her old nurse took in the unhappy and embittered Brianna, who'd been rejected by both her father and now the Templars. So when Simon Lockhart shows up Brianna wasn't exactly ecstatic to see him. Still, a warrior doesn't deny a call for help, and she agrees to join him in his quest. Thus, begins their adventure, battling the enemy, hardship, and torture. But the greatest obstacle of all is the wall around her heart. Is Simon warrior enough to win her love?

Handsome knights, thrilling battles, and heartwarming romance--it's all in A Knight To Desire. I'm sorry this is the last book in the series, because what a great series it is. I loved every book. But then I'm also anxious to see what Ms. Russell has for us next. It'll be good, I know.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars series--final book--must read, July 2, 2012
This review is from: A Knight to Desire (Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
Gerri Russell has written the final book on the Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars series. Brianna wanted and needed to be taken seriously and was already pushing for some women's rights in the 1300's. Simon sees the potential but is hesitant to step outside the normal. Brianna and Simon must come to an understanding that each has an expertise the other can use and they must work together for the good of the people. The challenges that they meet and work through to reach their goal is attention getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Knight to Desire (Russell), August 13, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Knight to Desire (Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
This is the "Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars" series. They are 4, full length (except for one), very exciting, very sexy, medieval romances.
Simon is the leader of the Templars, an order of monks who are guardians of a vast treasure trove filled with ancient artifacts, including the Holy Grail itself.
The treasure has been been discovered by the infamous Pierre de la Roche, who wants to use it for his own evil purposes, and to exact revenge on Simon.
Brianna is a brave young women, with the skills of a warrior and the gift of second sight. She wants more than anything to become a true Knight.
Simon and Brianna become embroilled in a fierce race to retrieve the Templar treasure, before de la Roche can get his greedy little hands on it!
I devoured all of the books in this series, even the novella. They are filled with plenty of action, adventure, and romance. The women are strong, the men are hunks, and the combination is just right!

"Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars" series:
To Tempt a Knight
Seducing a Knight
Border Lord's Bride (novella)
A Knight to Desire

I also recommend the other series by Gerri, "The Stones of Destiny". They too are equally captivating!

5.0 out of 5 stars superb historical romance, July 10, 2012
Brianna Sinclair trained all her life to become a knight though her male counterparts scoff at a woman using weapons though she uses a sword as well as any man can. Templar Knight Sir Simon Lockhart knows Brianna's cause for gender equality is right but cannot afford to alienate his allies at a critical moment as he must find Joyeuse the sword of Charlemagne and the Holy Grail before a maniac uses these stolen relics to destroy Scotland.

Simon asks Brianna to help him with his quest as he feels her visions of a horrific battle leads him to believe he needs her at his side guiding him especially when an unknown Templar has betrayed the Order. She agrees to assist him on his dangerous but noble quest to save the Scottish people and the Order. Both are attracted to one another, but the mission must come before their desire.

The final Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars historical romance (see To Tempt a Knight, Seducing the Knight, and Border Lord's Bride) is a superb end to a strong saga. As a fourteenth century Boadicea, Brianna brings freshness with her demand to become a knight and her lack of fear as only how her heart feels about Simon scares her. Fast-paced with a touch of the paranormal, fans will appreciate the adventures of the Templar and the warrior woman as they fall in love while facing death as they seek to prevent a madman's deployment of Joyeuse and the Holy Grail.

I've read this, the fourth book in the series entitled "Brotherhood of The Scottish Templars" I've enjoyed reading them all! Each Knight, the Hero in each of them have been amazing! The Knight In this book, Simon is my favorite along with William in the First Book. I just Loved Brianna and her "Warrior's Heart"!! This is a good read. All of these books are also a "Clean Read" definitely worth the time and money, to step back in to Time with these Templar Warriors!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance with a Twist, November 24, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Knight to Desire (Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
This series by Ms. Russell is really fascinating. It's also a bit gory and "dark", but that's an accurate portrayal of the times during which the Templars lived. It is less about the Templars because it takes place after they've been disbanded and are being pursued by those hell-bent on killing them for their treasures and secrets. These ARE "romance" novels but they're not page after page of sex. There actually IS a story line and it's excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly well done story., October 15, 2013
This review is from: A Knight to Desire (Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
I very much enjoyed this tale. It has it all, some humor, good versus evil, mystery, infatuation, adoration, blooming love, strong yet feminine character and honorable hot heroine of a man. I couldn't put it down and read it less than 2 days, in between working full time and attending class at night. I'll be looking into what other tales Gerri Russell has written and I hope they are just as wonderful.

Got the first book by this author as a freebie and enjoyed it so much I went looking for more of her stuff to actually purchase. If you enjoy period romance with a strong female protagonist, this author's for you.
