As someone who has raised deer, I find the call to sound more like a duck than a doe bleat contact call. With enough practice it could be made to sound like a panicked fawn, but generally you could do better with your own vocal chords. This pretty much applies to most doe bleat calls I've tried and is not limited to this one. It's pretty enough for my wall display and cheap enough for my daughter to play with, so it's no loss. ;)
