More About the Author

Clamp, stylized as CLAMP, is an all-female Japanese manga artist group that formed in the mid 1980s. Many of the group's manga series are often adapted into anime after release. It consists of their leader Nanase Ohkawa, who provides much of the storyline and screenplay for all their works and adaptations of those works respectively, and three artists whose roles shift for each series: Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi. Almost 100 million Clamp tankōbon copies have been sold worldwide as of October 2007.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste money on three separate books!, January 23, 2009
This is a bind-up of the first 3 Magic Knights Rayearth Books, and it is so much better to buy this than the other three separately!

This book reads from right-to-left like the Japanese manga, instead of left-to-right like the original translations. For about about the price of just one manga, you get the first half of the series all in one book. Because it is such a thick book, the binding gets a little weak toward the center of the book, but if you don't put your manga through extreme trials (i.e., throwing it in your backpack all day), it should hold up just fine.

Also, because this is three books bound in one, you don't get any color pages other than the front and back cover-- it's straight black and white throughout. If this doesn't bother you, I'd definitely recommend this book for you! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the translation still kind of sucks... instead of leaving little notes (such as Ferio's accent), they GIVE him an accent (he says things like "y'all"). :)
