5.0 out of 5 stars Men - Your Tears From Your Heart Will Save You
I know that every man who reads this book will see himself in this book. And I hope that they will pay close attention to this story about a man who learned that he does not have to prove to others that he is good, loving and kind.

3.0 out of 5 stars good morals lesson
good morals lesson for kids (and adults) about just what it is to be a decent human being for your family and other "living things." Simply stated and easy to read to kids of any age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Men - Your Tears From Your Heart Will Save You, July 19, 2002
I know that every man who reads this book will see himself in this book. And I hope that they will pay close attention to this story about a man who learned that he does not have to prove to others that he is good, loving and kind.

Men are traditionally taught to fight the threatening enemies; and place fragile women, who are consumed with despair, into an environment that tells the world that they are materially doing just fine.

What's wrong with this, as the story demonstrates, is that this is done out of allegiance to the world first, as apposed to the man's allegiance to himself, and his family.

He develops emotional, social, and spiritual armor, to the point that he doesn't know who to be fully in the moment, in the presence of others, until the price for living like this potentially costs him the very people who he claims to be providing for.

In this story, the knight learned to take in the reality of life, which led him on a path to find his authentic self. He learned that he had lived his entire life trying to make everyone like him, at the price of not knowing who he himself was, in his heart.

And it was not until he was able to cry tears from his heart, that his armor disappeared, and he was able to go home, and truly love his wife and child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every single person needs to read this book., August 22, 1998

My daughter first sent this book to me about 7 years ago. I read it almost without putting it down. I have since purchased more than a dozen of these for gifts. From junior high age and older, this is a simply written book about life. If I had the power, I would put Knight in Rusty Armor in every home in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding story that makes you aware about yourself., September 17, 1998
By A Customer
The books brings to your attention the various armors we carry in our lifes and do not even realize it. To get the best out of it , it must be read more than once. It's easy to read and was written in simple words. Fisher, the author, uses the Merlin to create this awareness about the armors we carry to protect us against others , or to prevent us from getting hurt. Removing your armors will expose the true you...Are you willing to live with that?

I think everyone should read this book, and for the parents ( like myself ), have your kids read it too. There's a lot to learn from it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent story of taking care of yourself, so you'll be there for others, September 5, 2005

This book is a great story. The reading is probably 5th grade reading level. The symbolism is obvious, and the plot is extremely easy to follow. Yet I would recommend this to any adult or child.

In today's society we can become consumed with taking care of other people. When we see disasters on TV, when our child comes home crying after being bullied, or when loved ones become ill. We can become so involved taking care of other people that we forget to take care of ourselves. Well this is a story about what happens when we forget to take care of ourselves.

It tells the story of a knight who becomes so consumed with being a knight, he forgets about why he became one in the first place. Upon realizing this, he has to go on a journey and discovers the truth about his life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A short but totally awesome book, August 18, 2000

This is an amazing book that absolutely everyone should read, because the subject matter applies to everybody. The entire book is one big self-help metaphor from start to finish, and it is peppered with humor that makes it a fun read at the same time. I read the book three times in just a few days, the first time on my own, and then twice together with friends. It is an excellent read, and everybody should at least try it. Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Life Lessons Packaged in An Easy Read, December 20, 2004

Like many men (and I'm sure women, as well), I could relate to the knight. There are times we simply fall into the trap of trying to impress the world and, the more we do this (often, unconciously), the more the "armor" builds up around us.

The best metaphor of the book (in my opinion) was that the more self-knowledge attained by the knight, the more the armor melted away and his "true self" re-emerged.

This book could have been a very quick read, however, I just couldn't help highlighting and taking lots of notes. I plan to review this book and its awesome lessons from time to time.

Parents, please read this book . . . and pass it along to your children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laughter, Tears, and Personal Growth, June 7, 1998

This is by far my favorite book of all time. It is simple and funny, but makes deep and profound observations. I've read it numerous times and see something new of myself in it each time. I received it as a gift and now buy it in quantities in order to pass it on to friends. It is timeless and holds truths for everyone who is willing to see them.

The knight in rusty armor
Funny guide to change our behavior

Physically is a medium size book, with less than 100 pages. The letter size is good enough for easy reading. That is to say, the book has good quality.

The book tells a short tale. Although is a short story, you can find a deep description of "men" perception about changes. I would recommend you to read it slowly in order to avoid missing parts or messages that you can find on it.

The story is an analogy between the knights and the modern men. In fact, I think it could cause different feelings for men and for women. I am not sure but I think that the book will be more interesting for those who have difficult in changing than those who are willing to change. But for sure both will enjoy it.

This book is for everybody. I recommend it specially for those who find it so hard to admit their own responsibility or try to avoid circumstances where will need to accept mistakes . You will find that it was too hard for the knight to change his habits as well as it could be difficult for modern men to changes his attitude.

Since the knight tale could be also a metaphor for actual men, keep your mind open if you wish to read it. You could be reading my comments with a critic attitude to find mistakes on my "rusty" writing (and I would appreciate them since I am trying to improve my writing), or under a shining armor.

I am going through some difficult emotional growth, changes, and discovery, and this book was recommended to me by my counselor. I can relate with the Knight on many levels, and it was a refreshing, light-hearted, yet meaningful story which offers insight and hope. Definitely recommended!
