There is love so strong and powerful that it can withstand any pain and suffering brought onto it. This type of love is not always a love match at first but when you have your heart captured by it there is no letting go of it.

The heiress, Dallis Caruth was part of the Caruth clan that had been at war with the Dunn-Fadden's since the beginning of time. But now that Payton Dunn-Fadden has conquered her castle there is nothing to stop Payton from claiming the prize he feels he won which includes Dallis. Now Dallis on the other hand is not quite so giddy with love toward Payton and while their wedding night lights up the sky with passion Dallis does not mind that Payton has to be away for awhile to finish his conquering career and hold on to the title of King's Champion.

But three years away from his wife was a moment too long and once Payton returns his objective was to beget an heir not fall in love with his very conniving wife. Dallis has worked hard to get away from this marriage she feels is a sham but once Payton returns and the time they spend together does not push them apart but instead draws them closer to one another. Love was the last thing she thought to have with this man but love is indeed what she is feeling along with so much desire it is frightening.

Payton has more traveling to do before they settle in their home and he takes Dallis along on the journey. It is one filled with wicked widows, temperamental Kings and jealous suitors all possessing greed and jealousy with a bit of falsehood and lies thrown in for good measure. Dallis fights for the relationship she swore she did not want and does her best under the worst of conditions to keep Payton safe and warmly wrapped up in the arms she is extending out to him.

Jackie Ivie's Knight in White Satin is a must read for those that enjoy historical romance. This is one of her best novels to date. It's funny with lots of conflict. Ms. Ivie is an expert with Scot. history and that fact shines through with the feel and ambiance of the time.

As usual, Jackie's energy and sparkling personality translate into a wonderful tale of love in the Highlands. Her heroes never disappoint.
