Jennifer August began working on her story-telling craft early in life, most notably by telling whoppers designed to get her out of trouble with her parents. Somehow, that just never seemed to work.
A proud military brat, Jennifer continued to practice her techniques in the various cities and countries where her family was deployed. These jaunts helped add local flavor--usually German beer--to her stories.
These days, she lives in the suburban wilds of Texas with a menagerie of family, pets, computer games and office supplies. Despite rumors, she does not have an active countdown to the release of Diablo 3. Mostly because there is not an official release date yet.

Lady Stirling is an intriguing heroine, a strong woman in a time when a woman's work was in the castle. But this heroine spends time creeping through the secret passageways and motivating her people and her troops in a unique way.

Lord Quinn isn't about to let a woman, especially not the one he's to marry by the King's decree, get in the way of his plans for a comfortable, respectable life. She will fall in line and do as he tells her.

Yeah. Well, good luck with that, Quinn. These two create a wonderful pair, and it's fun to watch them fall, so against their will, in love.

But there's a traitor in their midst, one determined to do harm to them. Can Quinn and Stirling's uneasy alliance stand up to such a test? Especially when so much of the evidence points to Stirling as the guilty party?

This is the first in a series, and I eagerly look forward to the next book.
