Book Description

Knight's Blood February 27, 2007
U.S. Navy Pilot Lt. Alex MacNeil and his wife Lindsay have returned from their adventure in fourteenth century Scotland-and given birth to a son. But the magic realm is not through with them yet...

The MacNeils' child has been kidnapped-presumably by Nemed, the elfin king and the couple's sworn enemy-and brought back into the past. Feeling responsible, Lindsay ventures to medieval Scotland on her own, in pursuit of Nemed. Once again in the guise of Sir Lindsay Pawlowski, she joins a company of rogue knights, led by a man who calls himself "An Reubair"...

It isn't long before her true identity is discovered, but Lindsay proves her worth among the bandits. As time passes, she finds herself drawn to their lifestyle-and to Reubair-and is torn between reuniting with her family and embracing her warrior's life.

And soon she will confront Alex, who has also returned to Scotland and resumed his place as laird. And her son, now a fully grown man and resentful of his parents' abandonment...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very cold characters...., June 23, 2008
This review is from: Knight's Blood (Paperback)
This was not a very uplifting story. Alex was a good guy and did indeed thrive better in the 14th century than he did in the 21st century, but his wife, Lindsay was a puzzling heroine. First of all, she must have been insane to travel back without Alex to a perilous way of life she knew well, having been there before.

But what I could not understand was her coldness and outright rejection of Trefor, which proved she had not a maternal bone in her body. Alex wasn't much better with Trefor, but he at least had SOME feeling for his son, although he NEVER showed it for some bizarre reason.

However, the author did little to make Trefor likeable. Granted, he had reason to be bitter, but his sullenness grew tiresome.

The story wasn't boring, and Alex shined often, but Lindsay and Trefor were pretty awful.

4.0 out of 5 stars another author who read your work, March 8, 2008
This review is from: Knight's Blood (Paperback)
So far I have not gotten as of yet to finish this. with writing myself my normal job and promo for my own book I stay pretty busy. Although I have never heard of this author, I took a chance on buying this book along with knight's lady. I would recommend this to anyone. Julianne Lee has done a very good job of mixing the past in with the present. The rivalry between father and son has been my favorite part. Reminds me of me and my own father at times. Although her main lead man may think him and his wife were soul mates,I hope when I finish this book The lady will be with the bandit she travels with and fights with. I personally have never really liked the wars and things like that, but ms.Lee keeps this flowing pretty good. I can't wait until I get to the end to see what happens. then i can read the other new ones i bought. I really like this book and have bragged to friends that they need to check it out themselves
