Book Description

Knights to Christ contemporary scripture-based meditation book is a registered copyright publication of the Colorado Knights of Columbus Charities Fund, Inc., a 501c (3) non-profit corporation.

It is important to realize it is not a prayer book, but the "Word of God" - a scripture-based daily meditation book connecting the "Word of God" to the principles of the Knights of Columbus. It is a tool to enhance spirituality in individual members as well as councils and assemblies as a whole. When read each day, the reader will establish a closer relationship with Christ. It is a proven resource for members in recruitment by encouraging spirituality and it enhances the image of the Knights of Columbus Order to priests, bishops and Catholics in general. It is also used for small-faith sharing groups; opening and closing council/assembly meetings, providing a spiritual reading if a chaplain or deacon is not present; and a basis for Knight of Columbus retreats and days of prayer and recollection.

Before he left Denver after World Youth Day in 1993, the Holy Father challenged the young people of this nation and the world to do two things:

1. To lead the way fro the rest of the world in undergoing a personal conversion to Jesus Christ, and

2. To lead the way for the rest of the world in developing a personal, prayerful relationship with Jesus.

It is without saying the pope intended that challenge to every member of the Knights of Columbus.

Knights to Christ helps all of us to meet this challenge – to establish a closer relationship with Jesus every day of our lives. A simple tool for enriching a person’s own prayer life, Knights to Christ is a non-threatening gift for a friend or a relative who has fallen away from the practice of the faith.

We are taking what is fundamental – our faith and Order’s principles – and presenting both together in an innovative fashion. In other words, innovation based on foundation.

TESTIMONIALS

"Knights to Christ strikes me as a noble effort of the Colorado State Council to bring those who use the meditation into a closer relationship with Jesus on a daily basis. May this program, through the intercession of our founder, the Servant of God, Fr. Michael J. McGivney, enjoy every success."
--Carl A. Anderson, Supreme Knight

"Knights to Christ, rooted in the living Word of God, is an invaluable vademecum for any member desiring growth in spiritual life. It is at once a practical and profound tool to deepen one’s faith in accordance with the founding principles of the Order. I would encourage every Knight and his loved ones to make use of this beautiful prayer manual."
-- Most Reverend William E. Lori, Archbishop of Baltimore, Supreme Chaplain

"Knights to Christ is a wonderful source of Spiritual nourishment and a great way for every Knight to anchor himself in the roots of his apostolate."
--Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. , Archbishop of Philadelphia

Knights to Christ - Just a few years ago our Council (St. Thomas the Apostle 587 in Ann Arbor, Michigan), came close to closing up shop. We heard of these devotional books called "Knights the Christ", and purchased a dozen or so. Within a matter of a few months, our Council experienced such a large revival as a result of the inspiration that these books provided, as of October 2006, we were the number one Council in the entire State for recruiting new members
--Robin Sanders-FS-St Thomas the Apostle Council 587

5.0 out of 5 stars Knights to Christ ebook is great September 6, 2012

I am a daily reader of the Knights to Christ. When I found the eBook for Kindle was available this was even better since I often travel. Traveling can be a nuisance if I must carry many paper copies of books. The ebook allows me to carry less weight around the country and still be able to read the Knights to Christ daily. Also, since Knights to Christ is small to start with, I can read it clearly on my iPhone with the Kindle app. Loving the ease of availability.
