I started reading this book-thinking-ok this is going to be a nice read....until the end. it had so much promise, but the story ended right after it started. for the price I did not expect a novel, but i did expect an ending. there was so much lead up to the relationship between them and then..nothing. i could have read on without a complete explaination of thier world, but nothing happened to make this erotica or barely romance

I really enjoyed this story... Right up to the abrupt end! This story does not have a satisfying ending. The initial world building is great but a good explanation for the way things are is never given. Plus, the couple/triad never actually have sex together. Not quite what I expected from "erotica". This book needed about 3 more chapters to round out and complete the story. Maybe there will be a sequel. Hopefully...

All three books in this series, sorry - novellas - get a little annoying with the ACKS and EEPS and SWOONS. I've never internally monologued any of those words. Ever. Reading them makes it sound like a teenager wrote them.

I read Wanton Knights first not realizing it was out of order. However, after reading this and the second book Wicked Knights, I must confess I'm totally disappointed and wish I hadn't wasted my time.

Being they were on sale for $1.00 I'm not going to complain too much, but heck, this book has the word erotic in it - and there's not any actual sex. I mean, come on!

As other reviewers, I found the ending disappointing, but the whole premise of the series is that men from another world kidnap women and eventually the kidnapped gals get used to the idea of being dominated because, well, they have no choice in the matter. That in and of itself is not even mildly entertaining because the men all bruisingly kidnap the women and there's just not enough time in the book to get to like the men or even appreciate the women. A decent premise on the surface, there needs to be about 20 more chapters to flesh out the world and the characters and do them justice. Sorry Ms. Taylor. I wanted to like them all.

I was disappointed in the ending of the book. I had really started liking the story line. Some of the author's passages could have been written better but I was really getting into the story line. Then the author just ended the book. It was like she had become tired of writing the book and just wrapped it up in 5 pages. I have to say it was one of the worst books I have read because of the ending. I won't be reading anymore from this author.

The story was great, if you take out the fact that it wasn't very erotic, there was no actual threesome, and an extremely abrupt ending. The story line gets you all excited only to be leave you disappointed.

I really wanted to like this book and honestly the writing wasn't terrible and littered with typos but there was just a huge unbalance in the whole story arch and a lot of things left sort of unfinished or muddled. The ending completely lost me. I was following along, if somewhat reluctantly at times, with the story but there was never any truly sexy scenes and so much was left open-ended that I was pretty disappointed by the end. Maybe this is to make room for sequels but there just seemed to be a lot of alluding to things that were never actually explained. Adding to the confusion was the random paragraph breaks, in my reading experience if there is a great gape between paragraphs you can expect a change of P.O.V. or a progression of time but this was simply a large gap in the same thought process. Also with chapters starting randomly on the page following a paragraph I was pulled out further. Usually formatting on the kindle editions isn't a bit deal with me but when I'm already trying to figure out what was going to happen with this story, the added distraction didn't really help. The pacing completely changed and sped up at the end and wasn't really a resolution but felt more like a cop out, so while the idea of this series could be especially interesting there wasn't a lot of redeeming qualities for the actual book. It was free so it wasn't the end of the world for me but I'm not sure I could recommend it for others.

I got this read at a discounted price. I would not pay full price for this novella. The concept of an alternate universe where hot shifter men are mated to women in pairs? HOT! How the story was delivered in this story using said concept?? Eh, not so hot. There was a form of disconnection that came across to me while reading. But for the price I paid...I guess beggars can't be choosers.

This story had real promise but the author dropped the ball. There were alot of different elements that could have developed into a great story but instead they were mentioned then dropped. Even though the book was free it wasn't worth the time I spent reading it.

Sorry Have to agree with the others. This story fell short at the need just when it was getting good. Just when the story was going somewhere it ended. There was no so called "training", there was no exploring of each others world or discussing their or her past to understand her better. We didn't know why the man wanted to escape, or even who he really was. We just saw him fly through the door and then at the end was told that he was back in his world. There was no real relationship development of trust bond formed, which is really important in a D/s relationship. There was no real end involved with this book. All we know is she set fire to the book and the gate closed, but not before they miraculously sent the escape-y back to the world, how we dont know since there was only one gate and people were crawling all over it so they couldn't really get to it. There was no real sexual relations that happened between them which, considering what kind of book this was suppose to be, i expected more then i got. We don't know if she decided to stay in her world or go back to their world with them. We were just suppose to accept that there was a happily ever after, but what happily ever after? What the hell happened to them?
I loved the concept of the book, thought it would be wonderful but nothing was discussed or solved or figured out. It left me with more questions then answers. Which is too bad since it had such promise.
