5.0 out of 5 stars Sheer Fun, June 20, 2004
This review is from: Knights and Merchants (CD-ROM)
This isn't a brainless game and doesn't drain your brains as well. Combining a simulation, strategy and a little roleplay, all in one Knights and Merchants is a classic of its time! The sound effects (TROOP RIGHT WHEEL ... CHOW TIME!) the music, ambience of the game is enough to make you feel as though you're really in the realm. With building your village and towns you get your simulation genre, with the building of troops and sending them into military positions you get your strategy. It is not all that fast paced, relaxing and just all out plain enjoyable to play.

We deserve a sequel. The fans demand it. Or at least, just me.

5.0 out of 5 stars I DEMAND A SEQUEL, February 7, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Knights and Merchants (CD-ROM)
this is a fantastic strategy game. it's like any of the Warcrafts, only better. each mission you have objectives, and the first thing you do is build up your town for a few hours (pretty boring), until you have the resources to make a huge army, and use tactics to crush the enemy and siege their towns. this is much more fun than it looks. you can place archers behind your light infantry to add more support and stuff. or somehow sneak your men behind the enemy to attack from the back. but you have to have many workers and lots of food to feed your soldiers !! that's the realism of this game.

I didnt like this game at all. It was way to long and to tell you the truth, boreing. It takes you so long to get food and then to feed you're troops and then you attack and then youre troops need More food and you're little surfs cannot deal with feeding your dudes and doing stuff around town. Your wepons makers are wayyyy too slow.
ok so it is not all bad, it is still an ok IDEA for a game. But could be re-done. if you want a game like this but 65 time better, play stronghold.
