If you've ever liked a movie... you'll LOVE this one. It is a fun filled action thrill ride with cyborgs, hot boxing-champion chicks, and a wide variety of the best one-liners out there (such as "oh no, am i on fire now?"). If anyone else agrees on this wih me, please email me and let me know some other good movies like this one! The movie is relative, imaginative, and magic. Its a sci-fi flic that you should check out, I wish it were available here on DVD today. I'm definitely going to buy a copy so I can do my part to preserve this classic story for future sci-fi lovers.

I like this movie. I think Kathy Long did an excellent job with a scipt that was a little weak.

Though the script, plot, and much of the acting leave much to be desired, the 5-time world champion kick-boxer will have you convinced that she could take on an entire human army single-handed AND kill cyborgs. There are humorous parts too (some intentional, some not), clever parts and some parts that are just plain bizarre. (See if you recognize the head cyborg dude - he is a crack-up.) All in all it is very entertaining. Hey, Pyun, we want a sequel!

Best B-Movie *Ever*...,

To me at least this seems like it should have a huge cult following. And yet, it doesn't seem to. I do have some ideas that would have made it a much, much better movie:1. Make the lip sync off by one or two seconds 2. Have the actors deliver lines in Chinese than make a bad English dub over the top of it. 3. Use really old cameras to give it a real B-Movie feel. You can really laugh all the way through this movie. As it stands I would still give it a higher rating than SW: Episodes 1 and 2. But that's just me. And I agree the ending is really begging for a TV series/miniseries/sequel. But that doesn't look likely. The dialog is just hilarious. And the actors deliver it with such seriousness. It's almost like Adam West from Batman. At one point in the movie one of the actors hits a camera and they just keep going (this is spotlighted in a clip during the end of the movie just before the credits). I can honestly say I was not bored for this entire movie. Please keep my B-Movie modifier in mind when look at the 5 star rating.

In the ravaged wasteland of the future, mankind is terrorized by Cyborgs--robots with human features--that have discovered a new source of fuel: human blood. Commanded by their vicious leader Jôb (Lance Henriksen), the Cyborgs prepare to overtake Taos, a densely populated human outpost.
Only one force can stop Jôb's death march--the Cyborg Gabriel (Kris Kristofferson), who is programmed to destroy Jôb and his army. In the ruins of a ransacked village, Gabriel finds Nea (Kathy Long), a beautiful young woman whose parents were killed by Cyborgs ten years earlier. Now she wants revenge. They strike a pact: Gabriel will train Nea how to fight the Cyborgs and Nea will lead Gabriel to Taos.

This movie is hot. Wanted it for years since I saw my uncle's copy in 1995. Had a crush on Kathy Long since.

Runs out of plot.,

In the future (that looks like hundreds of years ago), the humans live in fear of the cyborgs who need their blood to survive. The first hour or so, it's a somewhat entertaining grade b adventure movie with below average actors (except Kris Kristofferson), stupid screenplay and cheap effects. After that it runs out of plot and the rest of the movie is long, boring, fighting scenes. The, suddenly it ends before the story is solved, giving a feeling that it's a pilot for a TV-series that was never made. This movie made me laugh a couple of times, mostly at scenes that probably weren't supposed to be funny, and you can see it without getting too bored, except for at the end. But it's absolutely not a good movie. Stupid screenplay and bad direction, and Kathy Long is pretty bad as the heroine. I wonder what made big actors like Kris Kristofferson and Lance Henriksen choose to be in this movie. Watch it only if it's on TV. Don't pay to see it. |
