5.0 out of 5 stars good use of colour, November 6, 2006

This is a book with a variety of projects including a shawl, hats, a sleeveless top and matching jacket, teacosy and a fulled bag. Some of the projects (shawl and beret) are designed to use various yarns from your stash. Most of the yarns are 8 ply (DK weight) and the sizing is fairly generous (up to finished size 116 cm bust). All of the projects show a beautiful use of colour.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Dissappointed & NOT what I thought, February 5, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Knit: Handmade Style (Handmade Style (Thunder Bay Press)) (Paperback)
I bought this book without seeing it in person because it had good reviews and I loved the bag on the front. I thought they would be more natural looking, simple knits. The only patterns I liked were the bag on the front, a sleeveless top and jacket, the slippers, and a hot-water bottle cover (but how many times will you make that after you already have one). If you want scarves (they didn't fit my taste - I thought they were weird), a beret that uses a ton of yarns, a ribbed blanket, a shawl and a tea cozy... this is the book for you. It was a beautifully photographed book and may suite others' needs, but I tend to like books that give me more for my money and have a much more simple flair. I'd rather have had 101 One Skein Wonders, any of the Stitch & Bitch Books, or Greetings from Knit Cafe.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice book, March 4, 2007
This review is from: Knit: Handmade Style (Handmade Style (Thunder Bay Press)) (Paperback)
As a visual knitter I was disappointed on the lack of diagrams for the patterns. I especially liked the mitered afghan and the slipper socks.
