This book has it all--darling patterns, easy to follow instructions, enchanting photos of teddy bears wearing each project, clear schematics, and instructions for adapting each project to a specific-sized bear, doll, or even a child. These patterns are much more unique and original than the typical sweater or hat we've all seen for bears--see examples below. The majority of patterns are rated within the "Beginner--Easy--Adventurous Beginner" range of knitting skill, which makes this a perfect choice for those less experienced with knitting on a small scale. There are some patterns for intermediate/experienced knitters as well, including a teddy bear Fair Isle Sweater! The patterns are divided into four categories:

Teddy Bear Picnic (ex: sundress, v-neck top, skirt, eyelet cardigan, blue jeans, T-sweater, bolero, etc.)

Dress-Up (ex: twinset, wizard and mermaid outfits, paparazzi gown, chef's hat and apron, etc.)

Bears in Winter (ex: fur-trimmed hoodie, poncho, hiking set--complete with earflap hat, etc.)

Bedtime for Bears: (ex: nightgown, footie PJ's, bathrobe)

These patterns would be perfect for reducing a stash of small amounts of yarn. For those who knit for charity, wouldn't it be fun to donate a bear or doll with several different outfits for a charity auction? That's a project I'm aiming for after reading this book.

This book is fantastic (and not just for teddies, there are plenty of dolls that could wear the fashions here, too)! The patterns are top notch -- really well-written and easy to follow -- the photos are adorable and the overall layout of the book is great. I recommend this book in particular for people with children in their lives...or just the young at heart!

This is an awesome book. It's great for teddy collectors, new knitters can try out one of these projects before making an adult sized item, or make a matching child sized sweater. Good instruction, lots of good pictures, well laid out. Makes you want to make everything!

I bought this book a few months ago and have knitted a few outfits and dressed up some bears to give as gifts, which have DELIGHTED the recipients. I do not consider myself a great knitter but this book is relatively easy to follow (and there is always YouTube to give you a helping hand - which was invaluable for provisional cast-on). As mentioned by a previous reviewer, this is a fantastic way to use up that basket of yarn you have sitting around, and the items make lovely raffle gifts for charities. As for the ugly colors somebody mentioned, you can pick your own colors - and I have knitted that "ugly skirt" which knits up wonderfully, especially when tied with a pretty satin ribbon.

This book is fabulous.....the instructions are clear and the clothing would work out well for 18" dolls as well. The book even contains simple charts so that you can enter your own dimensions and create the clothing for anything from tiny dolls/bears up to adult size too! I have just completed the nightgown and it is just beautiful! I have been knitting for about two years and do not consider myself an expert but was able to easily follow the instructions.

The projects go quickly and certainly bring a smile to everyone who has seen my bear in her PJ's!

The author/designer did a fantastic job with this book. I hope that she is working on the next installment.

If you are a knitter and like to knit for little people this book is for you.

This is a great book! I looked all over town for patterns for stuffed toys, especially bears, without success. This is just what I was looking for and can hardly wait to get started!

I do NOT have this book, but luckily was allowed to look inside. What puts me off is the orange fuzzy sweater worn together with a very ugly pink skirt by one of the bears. Sorry, but anybody who combines those two colors lost me. There are better books out there, but some I won't order until I see customer pictures since I can't determine what's inside.
