Techniques Great But Yarns Used Very Expensive,
By A Customer
This review is from: Knitted Sweaters for Every Season: 4 Techniques, 16 Sweaters, and More! (Paperback)
As in her previous book on Scarves and Shawls, she has delivered a beautifully photographed and produced book, with many attractive designs and interesting techniques. I bought this book for its section on what she calls diagonal knitting, which differs from what is sually called diagnoal knitting by being divided into stocking stitch and garter squares. It is very attractive. However,as was also a flaw in her previous book, some of the garments would cost well into the hundreds of dollars to make as they are knit in Prism yarns. I don't feel it is necessary to spend more for yarn for one garment than for a month's health insurance.

This is an excellent knitting book with beautiful sweaters. It is well laid out. The techniques are clearly explained. It represents beautiful variety in style. Good value for the money. The sweaters require varying competency levels providing something for every knitter. An excellent addition to my extensive knitting library.Purchased through Amazon Gloria Schoofs Jorgensen

This review is from: Knitted Sweaters for Every Season: 4 Techniques, 16 Sweaters, and More! (Paperback)
This book has many innovative and challenging ideas and provides inspiration for the aspiring artist. However the yarns used are very spendy for the average budget. One has to wonder, "Is it the pattern or the yarn which makes me want to knit this?" Glad I bought the book through Amazon's used book sellers.
