I love this little book! It's the perfect size and weight for the knitting bag. PLUS, it is just jam-packed with knitting info, all in color photos, and all very clearly written. I learned to knit from Sharon Turner's other Visually book, and I'm so happy to have this lightweight handy book to toss in my carry-out knitting bag. As with her other knitting books, the instructions and the photos that go with them are written and arranged such that even the most inexperienced beginner can understand what to do. On top of containing everything you need to know on the go (plus a lot more), this pocket-size book also contains tons of fun tips that you would never have thought of yourself. A++++ keep the knitting books coming!

I'm a fairly new knitter - only 2 years but addicted. I bought this book because I wanted practical advice all in one place. The book looked good - I soon discovered it was GREAT. My copy is very used by now - there isn't a project I've done where I haven't referred to this book and found excellent clear instruction and advice. I love it - and you will too, I promise!

If you have one knitting book on your shelf it should be this one. The instructions are so clear that it is a great book for beginners, as well as an excellent reference for more experienced knitters. The author is very thorough, and the step-by-step text and photos will get you knitting no matter what your learning style. I would highly recommend this book!

I love the size of this new book! I go away frequently and like to take my knitting with me but have found all the other books, good as they are, too big to take anywhere conveniently. Finally there's a book which answers all my questions in an easy to use format with a wonderfully compact size. This is one of the clearest instruction books on the market. Bravo, Sharon Turner!!

This is a perfect resource for your knitting bag. It is small and portable. The pictures and print are large and clear. The instructions are step by step without missing anything that beginners would not know. I have the Knitter's companion (old version) and I this this is better.

This book came with some good reviews, like it's the take-along you can't live without, so I bought it. I'm new to knitting. This book does have some good pictures of shaping the parts of a top and showing and explaining how that is done, however, I just bought a simple washcloth pamphlet which has better pictures of, for instance, the knit-below stitch. My pamphlet made that a breeze, but in this book, that stitch is not pictured nearly as clearly and is very confusing: the important picture is just missing so a knitter has no idea where to insert the right needle. So I don't use my book much. Maybe I will someday for other projects, but for now it sits and I use the pamphlets for simple new stitch guides. That's a disappointment.

This book is helpful with many good tips, although small in size. If you are looking for helpful hints, this is probably for you. If you are wanting to know more in depth how to knit, I would recommend the Visual Knitting book instead.

I recently purchased this book, along with a similar book on crochet. Being new to both of these crafts, I have found them to be invaluable resources. The fact that they are small in size and can be easily taken along is just another plus. A must for those new to knit and crochet!

I've been knitting simple projects for years, but I was ready to move to the next level by taking on more challenging projects. The Visual Quick Tips Knitting book has great color pictures, good tips, and really simple instructions. I learned a new way to cast on called,long-tail cast on, that has a beautiful, clean edge - I never knew that there was a better way! There are so many instructions for doing things like cable stitches, multiple increases, yarnovers, making pompoms, buttonholes, and even fancy borders like a curly ruffle. I also like the Stitch Pattern section that shows a sample of a knitted work (like the Seed Stitch) with instructions for how to knit it. It's a very fun little book I carry in my knitting bag -- even fun for a knitter with some experience!

This book is a fantastic help. I have had all kinds of knitting books and have gone to on-line websites. This book surpasses them all!
