I bought this knife because I wanted to get a folder made with D2 tool steel. This knife is exactly that. I wound up having a few major problems, though.

The blade had 3 relatively big problems. First, the blade finish was bead blasted. It looks cool, but serves no purpose in a hunting knife other than make steel prone to rusting, and carbon steel innately has poor rust resistance. Second, the thumb hole had very sharp edges. It was just stamped out, and the edge left was sharp enough to break the skin on my thumb after playing around with the knife for just a short while. Third, the factory blade grind was very poor. I would estimate the blade grind to be at 16/18. The edge also came extremely toothy, and was to say the least a pain in the ass to sharpen.

The handle also had a critical issue, one that I wound up returning the knife over. The handle is milled on the right side (from the perspective of the knife blade opening upwards) to accommodate right-handed opening. That milling is not on the left side. After contacting the manufacturer, they informed me that milling the handle to open it from the left side would void my warranty. The liner also protruded quite a bit, enough to dig into my hand and cause mild pain.

The knife is not bad, if you are right handed and have the tools to sharpen and refinish D2. Without those 3 criteria, this knife is rather poor.

I disagree with the previous review. I used mine and then gave it to my son and ordered another one for myself.
If you want a run of the mill Stainless Steel blade, you will get dizzy looking at all the knives available. The D-2 Tool Steel is the difference, much stronger.
Pricey, yes the are, but you get what you pay for. I skinned and butchered 4 deer with mine and can still shave hair with it.
This is a folding knife so if you want to chop down trees, you bought the wrong knife.

Needs a little more finishing as top edges and the cut out are too sharp. Also could use a thumb stud for easier one hand opening.
