Format: Paperback
This book is full of photos and drawings of various knife models used from World War 1 to the present. The eleven chapters cover the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knives, Knives of the allies of world war 1 and 11, Germany's trench knives, knuckle knives, the big knives, bayonet, sword, ceremonial hangers, folding knives, gravity knives, trench clubs, contemporary knives since world war 11, and miscellaneous knives. In conclusion, this is a book that will be of interest to military buffs, and anyone interested in knives.

A fair representation of the subject but too many drawing , not enough photos and lacking in details.

A succinct yet comprehensive history on the design and use of combat knives of the 20th century. While the authors use historical photos to illustrate the context of knife use in combat, the book features detailed line drawings of all the knives mentioned to aid the reader in seeing each true design, something that grainy photos can obscure.
If you love the feel of a well-balanced blade in the hand, or grew fond of a particular knife during the trying times of crisis, or if you have a love of history and its accoutrements, get this book.

Deserving of ongoing mention for either collectors or military war buffs is a survey which holds the widest collection of international fighting knives seen in print. Three top names in historical military knives join forces to provide line drawings, historical photos where available, and fighting facts which pair history with techniques notes. It simply can't be beat!

The book was written in easy to understand language. As the title suggest it is "a GUIDE" the book had briefly discuss knives used during world war specially World War 2. However I found the usages of drawing compare to real photo were bit disappointing. This due the drawing look like a simple sketch. Other than that I found the book useful in term of general knowledge and still worth for money (my money).

Not the best I've read, but it's OK for the novice collector. Too many sketch drawings rather than photos and very little in-depth information is given. A great reference, but plan on buying others in order to really learn! Thanks, Jerry
