For Art Knives fans...,

This book is a collection of photographs from Jim Weier. Jim has chosen the tiny "niche" of the art or custom knife. Those are exquisitely crafted knives, swords, etc, and the pictures are magnificent. Those books are a good resource if you plan to one day invest a few hundred $ (or thousands, for some of them...) in a custom knife. The book is organized by categories: fantasy knives, fighters, folders, bowie, etc. The craftsmen are indexed at the end of the book. Jim has published 4 such books, and they're all pretty good. The only repproach I would make is that the books are very US-centric, but the custom knife is after all a US re-invention...Note that 2 of the ones I got from Amazon were actually signed by Jim, but I don't know that all of them are... |
