Amazon.com Review

Desperate for further, further confessions of the hilarious protagonist of Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging and On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God? You're in luck! Just in the nick of time, Georgia Nicolson is back, regaling her reading audience with the trials and tribulations of life as a British teen. Sure, Georgia is thrilled to still be the girlfriend of the Sex God. And yet, Dave the Laugh (her "red herring" ex-beau) isn't looking so bad himself these days. Meanwhile, as our heroine is updating her 1-to-10 snogging scale (6-1/4 is lip nibbling, otherwise known in Georgia-speak as "nip libbling"), her huge misbehaving cat, Angus, is on the verge of a trip to the vet to have his "chimney swept" in an effort to tone down his passion for the neighboring sex kitten, Naomi.

Louise Rennison's outrageously funny series, written in minute-by-minute diary form, perfectly captures the agonizing je ne sais quoi of adolescence in all its schizophrenic glory and comes complete with glossary for Georgia's oh-so-dim American chums. (Ages 12 and older) --Emilie Coulter --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From Publishers Weekly

Readers who became addicted to Georgia's hilarious reflections on adolescence, recorded in journal-like entries, in Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging and On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God will not be disappointed with this latest installment. The laugh-out-loud events begin when the heroine must leave her Sex God behind to go on holiday with her family in Och-aye land (Scotland), where the teens hang out at a 24-hour supermarket ("Is that the groovy thing to do up there then?" asks SG's brother; "No, it's the only thing to do," the narrator replies). There, Angus befriends a "retired sheepdog," that rounds up "things like chickens, passing cars... old Scottish people doing their haggis shopping." Upon her return, Georgia's reunion with the Sex God occasions an "emergency snogging scale update" (from "1. Holding hands" to "10. The full monty"). Cumulative jokes build on events from the previous novels; some highlights include her "apology" to Mr. Attwood, to whom she "caused injuries" in the last installment, her ongoing "friendship" with P. Green, whom she rescued last term ("Look, P. Green, we can be mates but I'll have to see you in secret because you are a bit dim") and, at the novel's conclusion, a party game of "True. Dare. Kiss or Promise" pairs her up with Dave the Laugh ("a dumpee of mine") for a prolonged snog and inspires renewed confusion. With whom will she end up? Must she choose? Perhaps she can have it (them) all. Teens will identify with Georgia's competing emotions even as they laugh their way through every situation. Ages 13-up.

Each book is better than the last. The trip to Scotland had me laughing. I remember trips like that with my parents, except that I didn't have a SEX GOD to dream about. Then there is Angus and his missing trouser-snake addendums. LOL!!!! (My husband would like to rebut with "but cats don't wear trousers."
My favorite quote is (page 141): "Oh Blimey O'Reilley's pantyhose... what is the point of Shakespeare? I know he is a genius and so on, but he does rave on. What light doth through yonder window break? It's the bloody moon, for God's sake, Will, get a grip!!"

Oh, to be a teenager again! Georgia Nicolson makes it sound like so much fun!! If you have been reading and loving the series, Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas will not disappoint you. I caught myself giggling like a school girl a hundred times over, and I look forward to continuing with the next book in the series.
Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas continues the story of 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson and her adventures as the new girlfriend of Sex God, Robbie. But probably the most funny is the tale of Angus, the Scottish Wildcat. Angus, who has a crush on the Burmese sex kitten across the road, only causes the Nicolson family havoc when desperately trying to reconnect with his true love. And of course, Georgia's parents wreak their own kind of havoc, especially when dragging Georgie to Och Aye Land (Scotland) on a hideous family vacation, when all she'd rather do is sit home and snog with Robbie.
I love reading about the trials of Georgia. She and her friends are absolutely hilarious and I guarantee laughs on every page. The ending on this book, however, seemed a bit abrupt, but I guess it only serves to get people to buy the next book in the series right away! I know I will be.

This book is my absolute favorite! It's the funniest book I've ever read, including Calvin and Hobbes, which I don't even have to say how much they rock. While reading this book in language class I actually laughed out loud! Everyone stared at me like I was a loon. This book is sooooo realistic it scares me, I can relate to Georgia in so many ways. (Not that I'm overly obsessed over the size of my nose, or that I've taken kissing lessons or anything.) It truly is an inside look to how teenage girls think. Therefore no boy shall ever lay eyes inside its pages or suffer the wrath of...Erm, well, I don't know right now, but they shall suffer all the same. This book deserves 10 stars but they didn't have that as an option. Though they should just to pleas us delusional people out there. Buy this book right now if you haven't gotten it already. I cant say how much I love this book enough, but since I'm lazy I think Ill stop now.

"Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas" is the third in Louise Rennison's "confessions of Georgia Nicolson" series, a sort of teenage Bridget Jones who humorously captures in her diary her life in her British high school, her continuing romance with Robbie, Sex God and member of the Stiff Dylans, the misadventures of her ferocious cat Angus and her deranged little sister Libby, her loonie parents, and the general angst of being a teenager (chest size, fuzzy eyebrows, snoggability, proper application of makeup for specific occasions, etc). This instalment sees Georgia lusting after a former flame, Dave the Laugh, as well as schoolwide lust over the new French teacher Henri. We tag along on Georgia's miserable family vacation to Och Aye Land (Scotland), where the local "club" is the supermarket and Angus and Libby are munching on haggis together. Later, back at school, we follow Gee through her typical days of misbehaviour, pranks, and plotting. Laugh out loud funny, always original, can't wait to read the next one in the series!

Georgia Nicholson is debating her place in the world yet again. The family vacation to Och Aye Land (otherwise known as Scottland) is one of the highlights of Rennison's hilarious 3rd work, "Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas."
Georgia is a character we have all grown to love through Rennison's "Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging" series. We have seen her grow to become the official girlfriend of a "sex god" named Robbie and enjoyed her ongoing jokes about her parents.
Now, some new crises arise.
Georgia's cat, Angus, is in love with a Burmese "sex kitten" owned by Georgia's neighbors. Her father has wanted Angus's "trouser snake addendums" to be surgically removed for quite a while now, and with Naomi now pregnant, it looks as though Angus's manly days are through.
Georgia also thinks she may have some unresolved feelings with her "red herring" Dave the Laugh (whom she used to entice Robbie the Sex God). She even admits that her relationship with Robbie is strange since he is several years older.
It's a book that will make you look like a sputtering fool if read in public and a general good read. I only give four stars because the ending is such a merciless hook ("will the kittens be Angus's? Can she balance both a sex god and a laugh at the same time? This is her prime, after all. We'll just have to wait and see.") Other than that, it's a great rainy Saturday afternoon read.
