3.0 out of 5 stars Stylish but heavy utensils
I ordered these about a month ago. While I appreciate the sleek design, I am also baffled at a claim that I read somewhere stating that these are useful for folks with arthritis. I don't know know how since these are heavy and can wear out fingers quickly!!

I saw the Knorks on the Food Network and my 7 year old son had to have them! The knork was an idea thought of by a young boy while eating pizza, who later grew up and made his invention a realization.

The knork easily slices through pizza and thinner cuts of meats (it IS a knork after all, not a knife!), but is not sharp to the touch by any means. It has a nice weight and feels good in the hand. It looks nice and is a great conversation piece. I've purchased them for gifts and everyone loves them! You can get them in various finishes and can even get entire place settings. I highly recommend.

I have MS, and have little use of my left arm. The Knork makes mealtimes much easier for me, and only rarely do I need help cutting my food, I have friends, one with CP and one who had a stroke who both find these very helpful.Knork Flatware Satin Finish Stainless Steel Knork, Set of 4

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for One-Handed People!, March 29, 2009
This review is from: Knork Matte Knorks, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
Very satisfied with this product. The sides of the fork are just sharp enough to cut through hot dogs, pizza and rotisserie chicken but not sharp enough to cut you, if you slip. It's great for a one-handed person for normally tender foods. It does not work well for a steak or the hard casing on some sausages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product. Gives independence to a person., February 12, 2010
This review is from: Knork Matte Knorks, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
If someone you know has difficulty using a fork in one hand & a knife in the other, this is a great solution. The knork cuts extremely well, because the side is angled well to be a suitable cutting edge.

Have no fear-place this easily in your mouth without cutting your tongue or anything else.

Yes, the handle is heavier, but that is probably because the knork is designed with a good application of physics. The unique shape of the edge plus the weight of the handle allows one to cut through any thickness if you have a good strong eating hand.

Use the knork properly-place it on the object (like a thick steak) & rock back & forth. Patience is advised-but then it is recommended to eat more slowly- it's healthy!

Enjoy your steak in a restaurant -you are no longer restricted to soft mushy foods. Be independent-no one has to cut your steak in public anymore!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ease in Eating, November 4, 2006

Love these. I can use one utensil instead of two and the weight is nice and heavy in the right places.
I'd buy more, but they are a bit high in price.
No regrets about purchasing these. They just make sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Knork, December 23, 2008

My husband and I love the knork. We even enjoy going out here in Wichita, KS where many of the restaurants have knorks as their flatware. We use them all the time and the plastic are really great for outdoor eating and tailgating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Knork Makes a Notch in Flatware Design, July 20, 2008

Recently I was asked to take a stab at using a new and innovative eating utensil called the "Knork®," which is a cross between a knife and a fork. My family and I tried it for a couple of weeks and decided we really liked it! One family member has mobility issues and cannot easily manipulate a knife and fork, so this unusual piece of flatware is much easier for him to cut and pick up his food using only one hand.

At first glance this looks like an ordinary fork (see picture). However, when you turn it sideways you will see the head of the fork has a uniquely designed "finger platform" so that pressure can be applied without any discomfort to the fingertip. The outer tines are broad, beveled, and curved so the Knork® can easily cut through food, but isn't sharp enough to cause an injury. The flatware is made of sturdy stainless steel with an enlarged handle for easier gripping and is available in several finishes such as satin, gloss, and matte.

Although the utensil is safe for children to use, they may find it difficult because it is heavier than most flatware. However, they should be able to easily manipulate the Red Plastic 4 Pack Knork reusable plasticware, which is also convenient for traveling, the office, cookouts, camping, etc.

They don't cut as well as you are lead to believe. I'd say not much better than a normal fork even. But they are very nice and heavy and look good.
