A sweet little tale of a fairy that ties knots in your hair while you sleep. The book comes with an audio CD of a reading of the story with a song at the end. I recommend listening to the CD while you read the book. The illustrations are just as adorable as the book, they fit it perfectly. I can see this as a books the kids will like to read or listen to again and again.

The Knot Fairy is a free-spirited fantasy picturebook, about a fairy that visits sleeping children to tie knots in their hair. The pink, purple, and sepia-hued color illustrations by artist Kristi Bridgeman add a delightful touch to this warm-hearted story meant to be shared with young people right before bedtime. "So, if your hair goes this way and that... / and you're thinking of hiding it under a hat... / just look in the mirror and shout with glee, / "It looks like the Knot Fairy visited me!" An audio CD of the story read aloud by author and educator Bobbie Hinman, as well as an original "Fairy Song", complements this fanciful title.

Bobbie Hinman has written a book as fun, charming, and spirited as the Knot Fairy herself. A sweet, lively quality is also present in Kristi Bridgeman's watercolor illustrations. The rhyming story flows, carrying the reader along, as do the cheerful, frolicking pictures. Together they make a page-turner of a book. The reader follows the Knot Fairy on every page, where she even ties knots in the dog and cat. She is sometimes hidden a bit, so the young booklover will enjoy hunting for her.
An added treat is the enclosed CD with the story read by Bobbie. There is also the endearing "The Knot Fairy Song" sung in such a clear, true voice by Bobbie, accompanied by her grandchildren. It is fun to sing-along. This is indeed a book to be cherished, and it is highly recommended for ages 2-8. Preschools, day care programs, and Kindergarten classrooms can also use the book for drama, music, and art.

We met the author at a book festival in Decatur. I was attracted to her spot mainly because of the titles of her books. My little girls LOVE fairies but the types of fairies are what's great about her books. These fairies deal with stuff kids are intrigued by, like farting or their belly buttons. The Knot Fairy is about a fairy who comes in the middle of the night and ties knots in children's hair while they are asleep. My girls loved the idea of a fairy visiting them and they didn't mind so much when I brushed their hair in the morning!We also love the CD that comes along with the book- not only does the author herself read the story but there is also a cute song as well. I can't wait to get the other Fairy books!

My three year old twins love this book and The Sock Fairy. It's quick enough and colorful enough to hold their interest. Most importantly I like to read it so I do it willingly!

A very charming book. I bought it for 2 little girls but read it my son who is four and he loved it also.

My kids love this story and I love that I can brush their hair while reading it without complaint! The book talks about how the knot fairy comes into all children's rooms at night and makes knots in their hair. My girls love to try and see if they can outsmart her by brushing there hair perfectly at night now! The drawings are charming and they love to take turns spotting her in the pictures.

My 4 year old granddaughter absolutely loved the story. Now her knots are actually fun. The book's illustrations are beautiful. We highly recommend this fantasy book.

My five year old daughter and I spend a lot of time getting the knots out of her hair. She has always been frustrated with this daily ritual, so when I saw this book I knew we had to have it! She absolutely loves it and goes to sleep every night listening to the audio CD that comes with the book. I love hearing her sing the Fairy song! She has the words memorized and now, when we get to the dreaded daily hairbrushing, she will tell me the story. We are so glad we bought this book and are looking forward to the next Bobbie Hinman Fairy book!

I recently puchased The Knot Fairy for my children. We love this book! My daughter has curly hair that is always full of tangles. Brushing her hair every day used to be a fiasco. Now when we brush her hair she smiles and tells me, "The Knot Fairy was here again!" The illustrations make The Knot Fairy a truly beautiful and magical book.
