This book has some examples of macrame jewelry with beads and small cord. The illustrations are poorly drawn. The directions are not clear. The book would be better for more experienced macrame enthusiasts or people who know the knots. It would work well for persons giving a class in macrame, but it is not for the beginner.

I tried the simple plant hanger, but the instructions about the "wrap" were vague. The illustrations were not clear. There were no reccomended distances between knots to get any particutlar result.

This book is very shoddy and I'm sorry I bought it. The color plates (what few there are) are re-screened from another publication, they suffer from moire and look awful.

The book is tiny and the steps to produce the few projects are not always clear. Some of the crucial illustrations are no more than scribbles, I mean this literally--they don't even rise to the level of hurried sketches.

Nobody tried very hard producing this book and no self-respecting publishing house would have printed it. Waste of ten bucks.

I'm in my 30s now.....I wanted to re-learn how to make a plant hanger like I had done about 20 years ago in 7th grade....Try as I might I couldn't remember how to do it from memory so I went in search for a good book from the '70s that could remind me. This is a pretty cool book - its has the basic knots that I was looking for and has good instructions. It still seemed easier to do when I was 12 yrs old sitting there in art class but this book gave me a good start. It has a wide variety of things to make and many pictures to show/inspire. Don't think I'll be making that macrame purse with fringe but the plant hanger was good.

I got some pretty good ideas from this book and am very glad we bought it. I would recommend it to anyone interested in the hobby. There are other books out there that have maybe a little better presentation, but overall this is a really nice book.

I have "Hempmasters" and this book. I primarily refer to this one for instructions on basic knots. I find the pictures very easy to follow and they are grouped together on 4 pages. I don't have to flip through the book looking for different knots.

book is a little hard to follow instructions for a real beginner which I am, but is OK
