Editorial Reviews

In concert with a "rainbow" of children from the St. Vincent De Paul Center of Chicago, Ella creates a listening and participation recording that will introduce your children to voice tones, colors, instruments and their individual sounds, other languages, appreciation for other cultures, and a knowledge of farm-life chores. Children will love to accentuate the syllables, sing the tunes, and see the rainbow of fun-filled songs. For preschool to early elementary school children.

Songs included are:

I Know the Colors of the Rainbow

It Won't Rain, It Won't Rain

Who Fed the Chickens

Bim Bom Bim Bom

Kaluba, Beat the Drum

When I was three we were actually living right outside of Chicago, and my Mom had been introduced to Ella Jenkins' music by a close friend. This was back in the days when all people had were LPs and Cassetes. And we went to the public library and found this on vinyl. My Dad taped it onto a cassette so we could have it for traveling in the car. Well...27 years later, that tape is STILL intact!! And we still quote it too. I remember not long after we discovered it, asking my Dad where Mom was, and he lied that she was "In the People's Republic of China!" And we still joke about that to this very day. Thanks Ms. Jenkins for all the music and lessons you have shared with the children you have sung with. Here's wishing you many, more happy years of singing with children!
