From the Inside Flap

This brand new Bible study series from beloved Bible teacher Kay Arthur and the teaching staff of Precept Ministries tackles important issues in brief, easy-to-grasp lessons you can benefit from personally or as part of a small group. Each book in the series includes six 40-minute studies designed to draw you into God's Word through basic inductive Bible study. As Kay explains, "Rather than simply reading or listening to what others say about a subject, you are going to see for yourself what God says about it." Join one of the world's most respected Bible teachers in a study that will revolutionize your thinking--and your life.

The key to lasting peace, confidence, and joy in the Christian life is knowing for sure who you are and Whose you are. This step-by-step walk through 1 John can help you discover whether or not you are a true child of God.
By taking note of the way the Bible describes the differences between God's children and those of Satan, you can gain clearer insight into where you stand with God. Through this study you will see how your lifestyle will reflect the character of the One to whom you belong.
Dig into the Apostle John's first letter with Kay Arthur and David and B.J. Lawson. And discover what it means to walk in the light instead of darkness. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

How Can You Be SURE You're Headed to Heaven?

When it comes to where you'll spend eternity, many people hope they'll find a place in Heaven, while others just assume their place is secure.

Rather than guessing or presuming about the future, you can find in the book of 1 John a definite answer about where you stand with God. As you learn how a person's lifestyle reflects the character of the one to whom they belong--whether God or the devil--you'll learn exactly what it means to walk in light rather than darkness.

This enlightening study will lead you to the confidence, peace, and joy that come from knowing without a doubt that God IS your father and Heaven IS your home.

If you're similar to me, you probably find yourself often wondering the question, What does a genuine Christian look, and act, like? You know in your heart of hearts what one *should* look and act like, but attempting to live a Godly life in an ungodly world has taken a toll on you from some of the "Christians" you've met: The ones who may act pure and holy on Sunday at church and then dramatically switch personalities throughout the week.

In John 8:44, we are told--by Jesus--"You are of your father, the devil." *Ouch.* Here we thought God was our father. Bring on the doubts...

Struggling with doubts about our relationship with God is a terrible, horrifying, miserable way to live life. Wondering brings a lack of peace, hoping a sense of lessening confidence. **Anguish** is a theme to a life lived in this manner.

Yet, there is hope that brings peace which surpasses all understanding! *How Do You Know God's Your Father* is so much more than an average Bible study.

I have personally done this "complete-all-in-one" Bible study as well as taught it to a group of gals… What I love about all the 40 Minute studies that Precept offers, is that you have the Scriptures right there, and that you are being taught the 5 W's and the H: Who, What, When, Where, Why and How. You are also being taught how to study your Bible in an easy & bit-sized manner, and of course, you are being taught godly and biblical principles & precepts.

One draw back– it is not a "40 minute study", but rather an hour study (at least among a group of gals) :–)

Have taught upper level Precept materials for 20 yrs..this series is excellent for small group, individual study, Sunday school class, youth groups, discipling/mentoring. The basic principles of inductive study are used throughout so presumably as the student moves through the other books, they will become very familiar with the skills of observation, interpretation, and application.

Excellent study for new believers. Tools for studying what God's word says about the subject, not man's opinions.
