A beautifully intimate book about the character of God!, November 27, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: To Know Him By Name (Hardcover)
Next to the Word of God itself, this is one of the books I hold most dear. In her inimitable style, Kay Arthur takes the reader by the heart and introduces you to the 15 Hebrew names of God from the Old Testament. Are you in need of something? Then meet "El Shaddai": The All-Sufficient One who is able to meet your every need. Where do you turn when you are in distress? "Jehovah-shalom": The Lord is Peace. In each chapter, all beautifully illustrated with watercolor and calligraphy, we are led to a deeper understanding of the God who loves us and is available to us in ways we don't always realize. This book opened my eyes to the intimacy that God desires to have with each one of His children. I call this book a profoundly moving experience; a love letter from our Heavenly Father.

To know Him by Name, February 16, 2007
This book is inspiring, captivating, and easy to read.
Kay Arthur is a, highly demanded, Christian spokeswoman with many biblical studies in print. In this book, God, once again, uses Kay's gift for writing to invite the reader to learn and understand the Names of God better. For each Name reveals something of His power and love and purposes toward you (me). Sixteen Old Testament Names of God are covered. The reason we need to know Him better:
Proverbs 18:10
"The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and they are safe!"
I absolutely loved this book. As Kay states in the beginning of the book, "God's Name represents His Attributes, His Nature," and "His Name is a statement of Who He is."
I highly recommend this book!
