interesting movie with satisfying sequel,

This review is from: I Know What You Did Last Summer/I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (Deluxe Box Set) (DVD)
I enjoyed watching these movies, the plot was not weak and it was very interesting with a few good scares. The first movie brings you something fresh and fun (yet scary) to watch. It's great to try and find out the conclusion and be scared at the same time. A great horror movie with a great story is how I can describe the first movie.
The second movie is such a good follow-up that I couldn't decide which one I liked better at first. The scenes are interesting and it's not the exact same thing as the first. It was strong in bringing up something new. I loved watching the cast run for their lives as they discover that a murderer is close, chasing each person down. The ending is pleasantly satisfying. I would suggest you buy this collection because both of the movies include great fun and great scares, it's a very nice collection.

This is an awesome two movie set-up. Even if the movies weren't scary. I don't care what any of you say, the first one was awesome. Its like one of those movies you could quote any line, from. I mean you got Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah MG, Freddie Prinze Jr, Ryan Phillipe. Its an awesome cast. The second wasn't as good, but hey its still worth watching. And Jack Black is in it, how could you go wrong.I reccomend this movie for people who liked Urban Legends, SCREAM, Idle Hands, and all those other Horror movies from the late 90s. Its essential. Plus Kevin Williamson (Scream; Dawson's Creek) wrote the movie.

Great movies. The fisherman (Hook Dude) is cool,

Great films. Both of these films are definately worth adding to ones DVD collection. The killer in these movies is a much scarrier than others like Jason and Freddy. The hook guy is something that could actually happen. Jason, Pinhead and Freddy are great villians, but they are based on the supernatural. A guy in a trench coat, rain hat and sporting a BIG HOOK is feasable, and that is what makes these movies scarry. All the actors do great in their perfomances in these movies. Just check em out. They are not as hokey as the Scream movies and hold your attention much better than the Urban Legend movies. They are the perfect mix of all the elements that make a good horror movie.

All I can say, is that these two films are two of the best. There's lots of gore, lots of shots of cleavage, and most importantly, lots of JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT! When I went to see the first film, I left my local multiplex breathless. Now I am the first to admit that I always have a smart comment, but this film was an exeption. It was great! The second film was a great film that built on every good aspect of the first. All I can say is BUY THESE FILMS NOW!

I really enjoyed the original movie. Tons of great actors, and interesting story, and enough twists to keep things interesting. The second movie was more of a typical killer chasing someone an entire movie with a twist at the end. This is a nice set, 2 movies for just a little above what you would pay for 1. If you enjoyed the Scream movies and things like Urban Legends, then this one should be right up your alley.

"I KNOW" THIS DVD IS EXCELLENT,

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a gripping tale about fear, guilt and suspense Miss Hewitt delivers a great performance. Unfortunately it's sequel has too many plotholes and is missing the touch of the original screenwriter Kevin Williamson. First of all the sequel was given a stupid name. I Still Know What You Did Last Summer takes place two years after the original so a better title would have been I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID or, simply I STILL KNOW. If you want to watch a good movie watch "I Know", if you're extremely bored and have nothing else to do, read a book but, don't watch the awful sequel.I KNOW = 4 STARS I STILL KNOW = 0 STARS

Before this review gets underway, let's get one thing clear: these movies, while providing a certain amount of high-octane suspense and intensity, are pretty much aimed at an overall teenage audience, and those who look for nothing more in a movie than lots of blood and murder. Now, on with the criticism..."I Know What You Did Last Summer" is definitely the better of the two, but then again, when did you ever see a sequel that lived up to the predecessor's standards? Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe and Freddie Prinze, Jr. play four high school graduates with plans for their future layed out in the first ten minutes of the movie. BIM BAM BOOM! On the way home from a party,a drunken Phillipe distracts Prinze from driving. causing a collision between the car and a man in a fisherman's slicker. Upon much deliberation, not to mention hyperventilating on Hewitt's part, the group dispose of the body, all swearing that they will never speak of the events of that night to anyone. Shoot ahead to a few days before the next year's 4th of July, and we find that Hewitt has sucumbed to the pressures of dealing with her actions, and remains distant from her friends at school and, upon her return to Southport, her mother. The next day during her visit, she receives a note, no return address or signature, bearing the words, "I know what you did last summer." This initiates her to seek out the three others, finding out that their plans for life have all changed to less-glamorous occupations. Hewitt and Gellar are the only ones who take the note seriously, but as soon as cars begin chasing them and mysterious occurences happen, they all begin to realize that they are dealing with somethigng dangerous. The plotline of the story remains concurrent throughout, and the surprise twists and turns are perfect compensation for the sometimes unbelievable acting. The movie does contain its fair share of blood and gore, but not enough to satisfy true horror buffs (that's where the sequel comes in). While some of the killer's actions are violent in nature, it is the subtle, bloodless schemes that truly set the tone for suspense. Actors and actresses alike give credible performances, though tending to slip into a juvenile state at certain points. All-in-all, definitely the better of the two. "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer", while trying to live up to the standards and plotline of the first, succeeds only in making a fool of itself and its plot. Hewitt and Prinze, Jr. reprise their roles, accompanied by Brandy Norwood and Mekhi Phifer in new roles as Hewitt's college pals. The premise: the two girls win an all expenses-paid trip to an island resort in the Bahamas. Upon arrival, they realize that the resort was not everything they expected, and the vacation soon turns into a letdown. Shoot back to the states, where Prinze, Jr. has another encounter with the killer from the first film, and the same deadly hook. Escaping from the hospital, he tries to contact his pals in the Bahamas to warn them that they are in danger. Soon, a hurricane hits the island, and that's when the bodies begin piling up, moreso that the first film. As I stated above, the sequel contains much more graphic violence and gore, which makes it a letdown compared to the tactics used in "I Know." While some elements may be suspenseful, the film is nothing short of a letdown.

I am not that eager about watching sequels cos they usually fail to deliver. I still watched this film because of Jennifer Love Hewwit cos shes a babe. Julies flatmate wins a trip to the bahamas where shes allowed to bring another 3 friends along. Julie contacts her boyfriend to come along but he doesn't seem that eager to go he has other plans. This time all the horror is on a beatiful island, there aren't many other people around cos its storm season. More edge of you seat stuff and if you thought there wont be a twist well there's a brilliant twist in the end. The DVD is packed with features it also includes Jennifer Love's music video. The disc is double sided with the widescreen version on one side and the full screen version on the other side.
