Knowing Me, Knowing You: A Biography Of You And Your Loved Ones provides an ideal way to record meaningful events in life and ultimately provide a biographical legacy for future generations of a family. A consumable whose pages would be filled out recording information organized along twenty different themes, Knowing Me, Knowing You will offer a personal record of life events, accomplishments, and experiences, as well as dreams, desires, memories, beliefs, ideals, favorite things, and even politics. Knowing Me, Knowing You would be a prized keepsake for parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, and loved ones. This unique record book would even prove useful as a way to know someone, as a bonding tool, an icebreaker at family and church gatherings, but most especially for reminiscing when visiting someone special in a hospital or nursing home. If you know a natural storyteller, you can appreciate the slices of their life that made you feel as though you were there. I wanted the experience of knowing people in my life better and I bought this book as a means to help me do that. As a tiny example:

What were any past or current nicknames?
What are your five best personality traits? What was your first job?
Do you remember your dreams? What are some of them?
Where would you travel if money were no object?
Have you ever...asked a stranger to dance? Dyed your hair? Fallen asleep in class?
Best Halloween costume? What is one thing that you really regret?

We have had so much FUN! The book itself allows space for six people to record their answers, becoming a keepsake itself. I found that our family and friends enjoyed using it in a less restrictive way. With no real pressure to ask all of the questions or to get to the end, we have used the questions in conversations, either one on one or in a group, throwing out a question here or there and seeing where it led. Never would I have come up with all the topics this book presents or have guessed which questions turned out to be great.

Certainly this book is for those who are interested in genealogy, capturing older generations and leaving their own mark for the generations to come. Yet it is more than that. From conversation starters to getting to know a special someone more deeply. Contemplating your own life and beliefs or just plain cutting up. The book covers every conceivable facet of life. With thousands of questions presented, there is sure to be something that will make the magic happen.
