Book Description

April 2002
Harness the untapped wisdom and power of your intuition.

Intuition is your natural intelligence. If you could eliminate all the distracting influences in your life—the pressure you feel from the expectation of others, the need to "get it right," the urge to compare yourself to others, your resistance to change and any aversions you have to feeling joy—what you would have left is your natural, intuitive intelligence. This instinctive wisdom knows the right decision in any situation, from what action to take to taking no action at all.

Knowing When It’s Right is devoted to the ways in which this natural ability can be used to improve relationships of all kinds. From dating to choosing permanent partners, and from raising children to relating to one’s parents and even the departed, this guide helps you use your intuition to make the right choices.

Subjects include how to attract and meet others intuitively; using intuition to date intelligently; having an intuitive and successful marriage; using intuition to end relationships; and the intuitive side of parenting, including teaching children how to trust themselves. Learn to trust your inner wisdom!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear steps on every aspect of relationships, May 10, 2002

This review is from: Knowing When It's Right: An Intuitive Approach to Improving Relationships (Paperback)
This wonderful book gives very clear steps on every aspect of relationship no matter whether you are trying to find a new romantic partner, get married, end a marriage, improve your relationship with your children, or let go of someone you love. For those of you who responded to my questionnaire (which is now closed, by the way) about finding a "good" man, I highly recommend this book. I have written a monthly column on the book on [website], but just to whet your appetite: Nancy's four main principles are:

In Chapter Two, Find Your Flow: Attract and Meet Others Intuitively, Nancy says, "The intuitive side of attracting a relationship begins with knowing that you do not know completely whom you want to attract. All you know is what you feel right now, which is that you feel ready to share your life with another person. Attracting a relationshipÖcan be deliberate or spontaneous. Both are appropriate and both use intuitive skills."
In an interview, Nancy, emphasized that "Relationships do not happen the way our idealizing mind would like them to. We tend to strategize and thing that we have to do more, or gain more control, rather than open up to the present moment. Relationships need to be navigated, not strategized. To navigate, ask yourself: what is happening in my life right now? How do I feel about that? What action is needed now? In contrast, the strategizing mind focuses on the future and asks: how can I get what I want? How can I fix this relationship to be what I want? What will be the outcome of this relationship?"
Nancy suggests the following ways to intuitively encourage the natural flow:
* Know the difference between control and resonance
* Navigate, don't strategize
* Make room for what is coming...
