My daughter "begged" to have this program after she used it at school and it's become a favorite of my 4 year-old son as well. It builds basic skills by helping children to explore one step at a time, and encourages learning with graphics, enchanting characters, and storylines that keep them coming back for more. IMHO, this was a product well worth buying.

my 4 year old learned to read early, so i pulled this out after finding it at a consignment shop months prior. i have never seen him so into a game! he LOVES it- we can all sing along with the songs, he loves to play the games... i love how it's sparked his interest in school. if your kid is a sucker for a catchy song like mine, you'll love that you bought this game. it does transition a little slow, and the graphics aren't anything special, but something about it can capture a kid's interest for a LONG time.

As a previous reviewer wrote, this version of Jumpstart will not work on newer Mac's. I have OS X 10.6. The evaluation part works but once you start to play the game somehow the sound goes down to barely audible. My granddaughter could not hear any of the instructions. She got frustrated really fast. Too bad, Knowledge Adventure didn't tell us that the program would not work on newer MACs before we bought it. Knowledge Adventure SHOULD have a free upgrade posted on their web site to download to fix these bugs. I am $$$$orry that I did not take the time to read the reviews.-
