I remember watching this on TV many many years ago. It made an impact back then, but I was slightly tentative as to whether the rose coloured glasses might have applied. I didnt need to worry. Nigel Hawthorne is probably even better than I remember (his induction speech to the new recruits is magnificent), but what also shines are the remaining cast, the direction, and of course the brilliant writing.
The packaging of the DVD is possibly another matter, but its ultimately irrelevant given the quality of the show. In my view, still the best character based TV movie ever made.

i have been looking for this video for many years I was amazed to see it on amazon and I was so happy to finally get it. It arrived in a timely manner and very good condition for such an old video thanks Amazon
