5.0 out of 5 stars I got their new album in Florida, but this is magnificent nonetheless...., June 21, 2007
This review is from: Knuckles Up (Audio CD)
Excellent punk rock (or speed rock in this case) album. Have you ever wanted a fast-paced,rollercoster like CD? Flatfoot 56's albums are for you. The beats are truly excellent in songs like 'This Town' and 'Knuckles Up'. Highly original styles of music are in this album. Bagpipes? Relentless, raspy voice? Single-note for the drums? Sounds like a recipe for great party music and excercise music. They sound like those indie punk rock bands from the Tony Hawk games. Just MUCH better. A message is in each of the songs. A good, Christian message of course.'Chi-town Beatdown' is the only song that is hard to understand without the lyrics. Buy their album or you'll be missing out on a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Christian Punk with A Celtic Flair, October 2, 2010
This review is from: Knuckles Up (Audio CD)
Having heard lots of Flatfoot's stuff throughout the last couple of years... I've been relatively unshaken in my opinion. I enjoy their stuff, but it's just not really my thing. This album has changed my mind.

With "Knuckles Up" I've realized just how unique and talented this band truly is. Not only are the lyrics excellent, worshipful and uplifting... but the music can be quite tenacious and fiery in it's own right. While I've always felt that the celtic elements took away from the aggression of the punk music, I believe this particular album has the perfect blend. I'm halfway talking myself in circles here... Suffice it to say that this is an impressive and quite noteworthy offering from a band I never fully appreciated or understood. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Knuckles Up, July 5, 2010

Great modern music with a bagpipe twist. No bad messages or rotten lyrics in the music. I would allow my kids to listen to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for those that don't think they like punk, December 1, 2009

I was in Lexington, KY for job-related business in 2006 (was actually working for Amazon at the time) and decided to park in a bar with some live punk music for the night. The opening band was drunk and just plain awful - never even made it through their first song. Flatfoot 56 came in after and just floored me. I am by no means a punk rock fan. I didn't own a single MP3 that could remotely by classified as punk. However, immediately following their set (which ended with their rendition of Amazing Grace) I bought this CD on the spot and haven't regretted it. I still play it frequently as it just plain rocks. Good hard rock mixed with bagpipes and mandolin. Awesome on CD, damn near spiritual when watching it live.

I have since also become a Dropkick Murphys fan. Check them out if you like Flatfoot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is this Really Christian Rock?, June 22, 2009

If you do a search on Flatfoot 56 you may see some stuff on Christian influence (Wikipedia has them listed as a Christen punk rock bank). I read that after I purchased this album and before I heard the album (I took a shot at a recommendation). But rest assured, this does not seem like Christian rock. There are some references to God, but overall they rock like the Drop Kick Murphys

This is a band that has a mix style of celtic christian punk oi! Whats not too like. While most mainstreem christian punk groups are actually Punk Pop, this band brings a more disirable sound. A must own for anyone fond of Christian music, the true Punk style, or celtic rock. This is a band with a great sense of humor and a good intention. ENJOY!!!! OI! OI! OI!OI!OI!OI!OI!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bagpipes! Mandolins! Guitars! Oh my!, July 7, 2006
This review is from: Knuckles Up (Audio CD)
Knuckles Up is an awesome celtic influenced punk CD that most punk fans can enjoy. It's the band's third release and their strongest yet. If you're a Christian looking for a band to replace Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys... just listen to what you like! But if you're a fan of good punk music with a strong celtic influence and lyrics that emphasize on brotherhood and faith, than this CD is probably for you! Even if you aren't much of a fan of punk music, I would still recommend this CD, with songs about pirates, and even one about accidentally marrying someone of the same gender, it's just plain fun! You really can't go wrong with Knuckles Up, a fine release from a fine band! 5 Stars and best of luck for Flatfoot!

Also, if you ever get a chance to see them live absolutely go do it! You'll have a good time, I promise.
