what an incredibly brave, upbeat, amazing person Lois Pryce is. Difficult and dangerous enough to ride Africa top to bottom, doubly so for a solo rider and for a woman, yet ride it she does with grace. I admire that, unlike many western travelers, she does not insulate herself with money or celebrity, rather she is a natural person who has this tremendous desire to experience Africa. Lovely, entertaining, insightful, amusing, she is a great travel writer and great adventurer

Just like the first book, this one is a good read fro Lois Pryce. This woman has an amazing sense of adventure, and for those of us with a little more caution, reading her book is the next best thing. Her enjoyable sense of humor and excellent descriptive writing kept me hooked all the way through.

I ordered Across Africa the Tricky, Sticky Way but received Red Tape and White Knuckles. The company I ordered from acknowledged the mistake and didn't charge me for the book, which was a good read. I would do business with Bookcloseouts again.

This is just a fantastic adventure story. You will not believe the hardship this gal goes through as she rides across Africa. She is one tough cookie ! She makes it and reaches the sea at the bottom of Africa. Nicely written and very difficult to put down.
