Brutal. Bonecrushing. Inexorable., November 13, 2009
I think the title sums it up. It's like [vis·cer·a] on methamphetamine. Some of the more interesting song structures and rhythms are absent -- but to make up for it, it's faster, more frantic, and again, totally brutal. "Grinderscraper," "How You Forget," the live mix of "Dischordant," and the title track are pulsating, pounding, epic noisescapes of mindless destruction. Others, like "Down in the Earth" and "Moment Already Gone" work on a simple pattern and elaborate, making more varied pieces from relatively simple elements. In all, though, the loud ones stick with you, but there's enough here to please everyone. Maybe not as solid overall as his last album, but still a solid and strong release.
