1.0 out of 5 stars Amazon selling obsolete film!, October 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 125PXP 120 (5 rolls) (Accessory)
I just bought your box of five B&W rolls of Plus X film. It staggered me to find upon receipt that the sellers had carefully placed a piece of tape over the expiration date and marked on the tape was the word: NEW plus a bar code. Removing the tape, I found that the film had expired as of September 2010, and was shipped to me in October. I received it on October 8th. NOT GOOD for future orders from me. An hour ago I placed an order for a new Cannon 7D camera at B & H in New York at a price of $1599, which I originally had planned to order through Amazon.com at a slightly better price, but no way will that happen. NOT GOOD at all! I see that you are still selling the film and listing it as NEW. Of course it is new. Who would buy exposed film? Or are you saying that it must be new if it has not been exposed, regardless of how outdated it is? Very questionable practice.

Of the last five items I have purchased from Amazon, two were worthless, one an (surprise me) expired film sale, one full bookstore price and the other fully satisfactory. Not a good grade for Amazon.com.....Possibly a failing grade. My suggestion is that buyers only purchase less expensive items for which you can just take a hit or write off if it's not what you expected. Years ago I learned that lesson dealing on the big auction store, but had early on found that Amazon was honorable. That was then, this is now.
