5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect little camera
I bought this camera for my girlfriend after she saw it in one of her magazines. The "weatherproof" aspect is what sold her, at least gives her some confidence that it will survive a day at the beach or a rainy game day. I really liked this camera the first year I had it. The pictures were good, it was very convenient... but a few days after the one year warranty had expired, the camera started to rewind the film after just one or two pictures and sometimes freeze up (the lens wouldn't retract). It is currently at a repair shop. Another downside is the high cost of APS film and...

I bought this camera for my girlfriend after she saw it in one of her magazines. The "weatherproof" aspect is what sold her, at least gives her some confidence that it will survive a day at the beach or a rainy game day. I was amazed with the small physical size of the camera, perfect for her small purses or my pockets. The Advantix film is more expensive along with the development costs. The costs force you to search for good deals on film, much more than I ever did with a 35mm. She enjoys the title option, even though you need the book with you because there are too many titles to remember by memory. She has gone through 5 rolls of film in two weeks, and they have all turned out well. The midroll exchange is neat, and we both perform that option a lot, but only because we can, no real reason, just because it's somewhat impressive to people that don't know you can do that!! If you are looking for a great little camera to take with you everywhere, this is it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Tiny Traveler, August 21, 2001
This review is from: Kodak Advantix T700 Zoom APS Camera (Electronics)
I bought this camera because I was heading to England and Ireland for a vacation of a lifetime and just couldn't stand the thought of carrying around my 4 lb. 35 mm. Easy to carry, offering pictures of various sizes, and waterproof to boot, this easy-to-use camera was perfect. Of course, I missed certain aspects of a larger camera. The T700 only has a 2x zoom, and I didn't have a tripod along, so missed some shots I would have gotten with a bigger camera. However, I still carry it in my purse and find that I am taking many more pictures now because I have the camera with me at all times. I guess the odds are that I will get more great pictures since I'm taking more pictures! Also, some of the photos seem darker than I think they should be, but that may be a reflection on the photographer rather than the camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great, full-featured small camera, April 4, 2002

We bought our T700 just before a two-week camping and hiking trip to the Southwestern U.S. This phenomenal little camera zipped through forty rolls of film at a number of national parks in all kinds of weather at every time of the days and evenings without one technically bad print. I found the 4 X 6 ("C") and 4 X 7 ("H")photos very comparable to 35mm in quality. Since the film is only 60% the size of 35mm, enlargements will of course show more grain and lack some color saturation. But since 98% of all pictures are printed 4 X 6, this is very adequate.

Now for the features. The rubberized, compact body easily fits in any pocket, purse, or small belt pouch. The flip-up flash helps avoid the red-eye seen in so many small camera photos. There are a number of flash options navigated on an LCD on the camera back with convenient buttons. There is even a sequential advance feature and the LCD has a backlight button for dim and dark conditions. Mid-roll rewind allows the user to change film speeds and types, or for people to share a camera with their own film cartridges.

Finally, the storage system is wonderful. Every cartridge has an I.D. No. and a matching numbered index print accompanies the processed prints. Using one of the popular small plastic photo organizers (the same size as a VHS video cassette) the user can store 12-18 cassettes (depending on the manufacturer) and matching index prints for easy reference and reprinting. The film never is touched by the user, but kept in its protective cartridge.

I have really put this little jewel through the paces, and can find few faults with it. One may be the short zoom (30-60 equivalent in 35mm) and another the limited shutter speed range (1/2-1/250th)or the slow lens (around f/8 wide open at telephoto).
Other than those few things, it's a phenom!

5.0 out of 5 stars great little camera, April 4, 2002

I took this camera to Cancun to use in various conditions down there such as the beach, clubs, and the fast moving contests during Spring Break. I was Amazed with the versitility and durability the camera possesed and the options were usefull aswell but were only understood after reading the manual a few times. Before I bought this camera I was a Bit sceptical because of bad things I heard about the quility of APS photos, I took a chance and I'm glad I did, pictures came out great execpt for some panoramic
shots in low light. The ease of using the film was great too with drop in loading, mid-roll change and after the film was proccesed I liked that the pics came back without negitives, just the same film casing for later use.

4.0 out of 5 stars indestructible camera!, August 3, 2005

This is a great little camera-- the pictures are good quality, (not great, but darn good), & it is virtually indestructible. I've had mine for three years now & it's been dropped, kicked, left in the rain & it still works like I bought it yesterday. It's perfect for people who always break their cameras or if you anticipate lots of hard use, but is not for those looking for professional quality pics.

I received this camera as a gift in January. It has already been back to Kodak once for repairs, and now it is going back again - for the same problem! After I load a new roll of film in it, it takes one picture & automatically rewinds the entire roll. Very frustrating. Picture quality is OK, but have only successfully been able to shoot 3 complete rolls of film since January because of it's quirky film problem.

I didn't know if this camera would be worth the price, but it definately is! I love all of the features--zoom, 3 picture sizes, mid-roll change, and many more. I haven't had a picture that didn't turn out since I got this camera. The only drawback is the expensive film, but you can see the quality in the pictures. This camera is great for point and shoot and gives you great pictures every time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Advantix Gets My Vote, December 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kodak Advantix T700 Zoom APS Camera (Electronics)
I like this camera for one reason alone and that is, I had one like it years ago. By the time I was ready to purchase another camera, Kodak had discontinued this model (boo hiss!).

Not knowing where or whom to contact, I googled the product name and found Amazon.com. This camera is great in terms of allowing various photo sizes. The panaramic size is wonderful for taking shots of Basilicas in Italy or the ocean view in Monaco.

The only negative (pun intended) is that the camera was sent with EXPIRED film dating back to January 2003. Not to worry, I bought NEW Advantix film at the local Walgreens.

Thanks!

I took this camera with me on many a college a adventure and after shooting 3 roles that got progressively worse I'm fed up with this shoddy crap. the only pictures that come out are indoors with decent artifical light and outdoors, but not bright. It won't take pictures in the dark, they shouldn't even tempt you with the different shutter options, none work. I even sent my camera in after the lcd broke. they wouldn't replace it but they did send me back a role of test pictures that for some reason were all perfectly developed, i wish i knew what camera they used...
