Mixed Feelings,

This review is from: Kodak B and W Circular Polarizer for P850, P880, Z7590, DX6490 and Z740 Digital Cameras (Electronics)
This is my first experience using a polarizer, so I won't be able to compare this to other camera systems.
I will say that this is a product of good quality and it functions exactly as it should. In very bright light, it will dramatically reduce the glare and enhance the color of images. Problems with this product: 1) I used this with a Kodak DX6490 camera. Neither the camera viewfinder nor the LCD screen give sufficient resolution to clearly assess if the polarizer has been adjusted properly. Often, I had to look directly through the polarizer (holding it up to my eyes) in order to determine how to properly orient the polarizer. I would give the product 4 stars if not for this problem, but I want to point out that this is really a problem inherent in the camera and NOT the lens. 2) The polarizer fits nicely on the adaptor (purchased separately), but to adjust the polarizer, you're really forced to turn the device clockwise. Turning it counterclockwise unscrews it from the adaptor. 3) Setting up the polarizer properly takes a little bit of time, so shooting subjects that are moving or taking a photo quickly is out of the question (for example, taking photos of birds, etc). Even with these problems taken into consideration, the polarizer is a worthwhile investment because: 1) It does improve the clarity and color of outdoor photos in bright light. 2) Considering the degree of improvement of the photos, it really isn't all that expensive. Also, note that you will need the Kodak Lens Adaptor to attach this lens to your camera.

Very pleased with the photos that this lens helped to produce. Glare was substantially reduced and saved a lot of time by not having to setup for the right position.
