I will never buy a Kodak printer again.

When I emailed Kodak, they emailed back that because this printer was so successful, they were backlogged on support questions.

Here's what Kodak DOESN'T TELL YOU: If you only print using black ink, the printer still uses color ink.

I liked this printer quite a bit. Ink is inexpensive- main reason we got it. However, after scanning something from it only once, which worked fine, the software is no longer opening and giving me errors. I have tried everything- uninstall, reinstall, firmware updates, everything they suggested to do on their website, etc. I now have a large black multifunction printer that only has one function- it does still print, but I cannot scan or use the software. When I emailed Kodak, they emailed back that because this printer was so successful, they were backlogged on support questions. Hmmmm. That does not sound good. Anyway. You may want to try it and hopefully have better luck than us.

I have wasted several hours on this thing. Will update this if I figure it out, but for now, I cannot give this a good review. It is possible that Windoze is the culprit or a combination of them both.

UPDATE- I should have remembered to update this earlier. I was able to use Adobe to get the scanner function to work. I don't hate this printer, but I don't love it either. I definitely don't want to have to spend hours trying to get equipment to work. I mean it's a printer- I just want to turn it on and use it. The problem was certainly in Kodak's software and should have been figured out by them.

So I bought this exact printer about a week ago and couldn't be more happier with it. Setting it up was extremely simple - even for people who have never dealed with a printer before!

The printer itself is amazingly speedy and the colors on the pages are bright and vivid. Really prints at a great quality - especially on photo paper!

The scans also come in really crisp and clear. The scanning really catches alot of those fine details without blurring them up too much. The scanning part, to really get the greatest qaulity, is tech-heavy though.

Over-all, an amazingly good product. Oh, and the ink lasts through alot of prints and only costs about $26 to COMPLETELY re-fill both the black and colored inks! I strongly recommend this to anyone who is tired of paying $50 everytime they need new ink or tired of getting crummy/dull prints and scans!

I bought this because I was frustrated with spending so much money on ink for my Epson printer. Kodak has the most misleading marketing campaign going. Yes, the ink is cheaper, but the amount of prints you get from an ink cartridge is outrageous. Plus, you constantly have to clean the printheads.

Don;t make the same mistake myself, and many others have. I'm actually thinking about bashing mine with a baseball bat.

The people who like Kodak printers are the ones who haven't had them long. The printers have a design flaw which necessitates frequent replacing of the print head. The printer is great until suddenly it begins having printhead issues, and the quality of the print deteriorates until it just quits printing. Kodak is currently replacing the printheads for free, but it usually quits just when you have something you really have to print. Surf the net and you will find people who have replaced 4 or 5 printheads. I wanted to support Kodak, but it just isn't worth the hassle until they correct the problem.

Worked OK for a week or so, then the ink ran out after only about 15 pages printed. After the 2 whole noisy minutes powering up the printer it started not recognizing that it even had a black cartridge installed. Printing is slow and quality is bad. Streaking lines about every other inch. It's a good thing the ink is so cheap since you have to buy so much of it!!! I can't believe I didn't read the reviews before I got the printer. After I had the printer for several months. My daughter and father told me about seeing this printer in an infommercial. It's no wonder... I'M SURE IT TAKES THEM AN OUR TO TALK SOMEONE INTO BUYING IT. My dad had actually ordered 3 because he thought by the commercial it was such a good deal. Well, after I got a hold of him he called to cancel his order. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! Signed, "Looking for a new Printer"

I have had my printer for about 2 months now. I love it. It prints pictures that look wonderful. The ink dries extremely fast, so the pictures don't smear. It takes a minute for the paper to load before the printing process. Worth the wait for the quality of pictures. The scanner works great. The pictures look just like the original one. The copy is good too. I don't really use the card slots, because my computer already has one. But if the one in my computer ever stops working, I will have a back up. The prices of ink are unbelievable. They also last along time. I started with a full ink cartridge, printed about 50 to 55 pictures, and still had 3/4 of a cartridge left.(Color cartridge, didn't really use any black.) My only real complaint is that the printer could be a little more quiet. I have just learned not to use it while my child is napping!! I should have read more on the box when I bought it also, and I would have prepared myself with the usb cable. Other then that.... I love it!!!

I bought this printer from Wal-Mart because it was on sale and because of the low cost of ink. Big mistake. It took me almost four hours to set up - the Kodak software would not recognize that I had connected the printer to the PC with the USB cord. Finally, after getting it to work, I couldn't believe how horrible the printing job was. All of the colors are faded, especially dark colors and shades of red. I printed a photo on plain white paper and compared it to the same photo that I had printed on my HP Photosmart printer days before. The Kodak photo looked horrible in comparison. But the worst thing about this printer is how slow it prints. It's suppose to print about 30 pages per minute. It literally took two minutes to print each page (b/w or color). I am taking back to Wal-Mart ASAP.
