4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but expensive
I have had the printer for a few days and it does print beautiful pictures but the printer cartridges are expensive. The printer comes with a cartridge and paper but there is only enough to print 5 pictures so you are forced to purchase a cartridge and paper when you buy the printer. A cartridge that prints 200 pictures is $50-$60. Also, the printer feels very cheaply...

1.0 out of 5 stars fails test of time
After just a few uses the dock only prints half a picture. Kodak wants $80 plus $10 shipping to fix it. I told them that I had only used it 4 times. They told me I could return it and get 15% off a new one. The question they could not answer was, Why would I buy another if the first one failed after so few uses? After reading other websites about this I found that I am...

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this printer, November 27, 2007
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
I've had mine for a couple of months and with a new grandbaby it's gotten a lot of use. I've never had a problem and it is very easy to use and the pictures are wonderful. I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Printer Let me clear somethings up, March 23, 2009
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
I have had this printer for about 1 1/2 years. Prints very well for what it is. As for the paper and ink they do come bundled because it uses a specific photo paper unlike the cheap stuff in department stores. The ink cartrdige is a Dye Sublimation. It uses 4 passes to print the pictures. The fourth pass puts a clear coat on the pictures to make them smug proof as well as water proof.
Some have said that it will not pick up paper after a while, this is true.
The rubber pickup wheels will get dusty when not used they will also get a little glazed as any rubber product does when not used. All you have to do is take a Q-tip and some rubbing alcahol to them and clean them and the printer will work great once again.
This printer is well under $100.00 and the prints cost roughly .25 each to print so factor that with you can take it anywhere and if you have a Kodak camera that will connect on top of it you can print pictures anywhere. I have taken mine on trips and have printed picture for friends and family before I leave to go home.
Compared to Ink Jet technology it is MUCH BETTER. Ink jet printed pictures fade in a very short time cost of ink is no bargain either.
I would reccomend this to anyone who wants to print 4 x 6 pictures that match the quality of any place tyyou would take your pictures to be printed. (Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens. ECT)

I am now going to get an epson which has great reviews.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little printer for only $80..., January 23, 2008
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
I just purchased this printer to go with my new Kodak Z812IS digital camera. I've only had it for a few weeks, but already printed close to 60 pictures on it and it's working great. It is a little noisy compared to my older Easy Share printer dock plus, which is still working fine almost 3 years later, but the noise doesn't bother me. This seems to be a great little printer for only $80. My printer dock plus was over $150 when I purchased it almost 3 yrs. ago, so this seems like a great deal. The ink and paper kits are a little costly, but Amazon offers some good deals on those...better than what you can get at Wal-mart for sure. I can't give it 5 stars because I don't know how it will hold up over time, but I'm guessing like all other Kodak products that I've purchased over the years...it's gonna last a long time!

5.0 out of 5 stars 610 works great, June 6, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
I bought this printer, and it works flawlessly. Yes it only comes with a 5 page starter bundle. Ok, I bought the G200 picture pack for $54.00, free delivery, no tax. That works out to $ .27 per picture. Hey hop in your SUV spend $4.00 in gas to print 12 pictures at the kiosk at 15 cents a piece. times change, at a party, take some pictures, and print as many as you want for the family, and avoid the cost of 41 cents per stamp to mail to family. This printer really saves time and money. ps you can get this printer for about $65 from other linked vendors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bought it mainly for the battery charging feature (for z712), June 17, 2008
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
I bought the Docking station g610 Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock and found out after I brought it home and read the instruction book, it requires a specific battery.

Not the battery that ships with the z712 camera. (The CV3 battery is not recharge-able.)

You'll need the Kodak 8324154 KLIC-8000 Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery for Z612 Camera ($25 on Amazon.)

or the equivalent battery version Kodak DLK-8000 Equivalent Li-ion Battery by Lenmar ($10 on Amazon.)

The sample paper includes 5 sheets. You'll get the ink cartridge is low message, but it will still print. According to the brochure inside, the ink included with the paper kits should last for all the sheets included in the kit.

It takes 4 passes for a single print. You'll need room in back of the docking station to allow the paper to partially eject for the print passes. There is also a feature to print wallet size photos, it will divvy up the 6x4 paper into yearbook sized copies.

I bought extra paper with the g610. Kodak 1410596 G50 Paper Kit, 50 4 x6 Sheets, Ink Cartridge ($20 on Amazon, no free shipping on this item.)

And you need a USB 2.0 cable to connect it to your PC. Belkin Pro Series USB 2.0 Device Cable (USB A/USB B, 10 Feet) For $5.84 on Amazon, this price is a steal. Most stores, a USB cable is $20 or more.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, April 10, 2009
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
I purchased a kodak 6000 which ate up ink cartridges before all of the photo paper was used up, and then I was stupid enough to purchase the G610 for my wife. We didn't go thru the box of photo paper and then the paper wouldn't feed into the printer.
We now have to manually feed the paper into the printer. Piece of junk!

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap piece of junk that doesn't work (and I bought TWO!), November 13, 2008
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
My actual rating is ZERO STARS. I was stupid enough to buy a second one and neither of them would feed paper and Kodak support is USELESS. Here's what happened...

I bought this printer dock along with a camera and supplies in Dec 2007 for my wife. She used it maybe three times all year and it seemed to work OK. We go to use it in Nov 2008 and it won't feed the paper.

I read through the troubleshooting section of manual and do everything it says to do - twice. No success. I contact Kodak support and the guy has me do it all over again. No success. Then he tells me that the warranty is up (it was supposed to be 12 months!) and that I could return it for service for only $[...] - yeah, right.

I didn't want to just throw away all the supplies I bought for this thing, so (foolish me) I found it online at [...] for only $[...] and bought a brand new one. It wouldn't feed paper either. Kodak support gives me the same line, the same run-around, and ecost.com says I have to deal with the manufacturer. So now it looks like I'm stuck with TWO of these useless, crappy, thin plastic pieces of junk and I'm out about $[...] in all.

Don't waste your money on this. I'm off to buy a Canon Pixma instead. AAAARRRGGGHHH!

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless Printer, April 18, 2008
This review is from: Kodak EasyShare G610 Printer Dock (Electronics)
I purchased this as a gift. When hooked up, an error message appeared saying low ink warning. In attempting to review pictures to decide which to print none of the camera functions worked. I called Kodak who went through some suggestions, none of which worked. The Kodak tech concluded it was defective. I returned it to the store and exchanged it for the same model. We got it home, hooked it up and had the same problems. returned it for a refund and will be another model but not a Kodak. Would not recommend this to anyone. Only regret I can't give it no stars.
