5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect starter or general family digital camera...especially for kids!, October 22, 2005
This review is from: Kodak Easyshare CX7300 3.2 MP Digital Camera and Easyshare Printer Dock (Electronics)
This is the second Kodak digital camera I own. My first is a more expensive model. As my boys were getting older and wanting to "take pictures" I was afraid that they would accidently ruin my good one. This is the perfect solution. I have this model hooked up to the "family" computer. It is readily available to anyone in the house who needs to take a picture. Everyone here knows that as soon as "picture taking" is completed, it goes back on the desk.

It has turned out to be a great little camera! My boys are not really rough on it but it does get used frequently and with great results. The pictures are great!

It does NOT have a lens cover but this is something I have used to teach the boys that they have to be extra careful.

Two of my girlfriends have this same camera and it is all they use. It is actually their "family" camera. No other expensive model is necessary.

The world of digital photography is very confusing because there are so many options. Sometimes we get caught up in thinking we need more than we really do, or spending more money than we need to on items more features than are necessary simply because we do not know enough about what we are looking to purchase. That is exactly how I ended up with the more expensive model about 3 years ago. This camera KODAK 7300 is really all a family needs if you are just doing general picture taking.

The KODAK software makes transferring your pictures to your computer very easy. The software is easy to use, so much so that once I transfer our photos to the computer, this software enables me to "upload" them (a click of the mouse) to the Kodak web site. (you have to register first), once you do that you will have an "account" and can store your albums there. By logging in to your account, you can view your pictures and select the ones you want to have printed NOT by you. Then you can order your selected prints right from here and choose to either pick them up at a local store, or they will send them to your address. The price of this (picking them up) is actually good, cheaper than printing them out yourself. I am impressed with the quality of the prints I get back!

This camera is very easy to use! If this will be your first exposure (pardon the pun) to digital camera-ing, you will not be intimidated by this! You will find that this is very easy to figure out.

Great camera for family use, even online auction photos! If you are looking for a great digital camera at a low price, this is it! I would recommend purchasing the memory card for family outings when you are snapping a lot of photos. Other than that, a small camera bag is all you need to have great photos for auctioning and/or your family's scrapbook or albums.

3.0 out of 5 stars great bundle for the price.....for low end users, that is., August 19, 2005

This review is from: Kodak Easyshare CX7300 3.2 MP Digital Camera and Easyshare Printer Dock (Electronics)
To start off, i'd say this is a great bundle for the low end user. The prints off the docking/charging station/photo printer is great. Amazingly easy to use, no computer needed to print, but if you want to retouch your pictures and then print it on nice glossy paper, you'll get crisp, beautifull prints.
The camera, however, is a royal pain. It's a point a shoot, really easy to use, but the loading/saving times on the camera are unacceptable. It doesn't quite take the picture when you want it to either, you'll find, especially when photographing people, that you they'll be caught in the middle of a blink due to the painfully slow time (3 seconds) where you press the button, the flash flashes and the camera does it's thing. this is this camera's worst issue, but no the only one. At times, when you take over two pictures in a row, the camera locks up or crashes. You'll have to turn it off, and back on to get it work, but by the time it loads and detects the SD card (which is a very poor interphase for cameras over 3MP) you have lost the espontaneity of the moment. You're gonna have to ask people to pose and hold the position for a long time.
The qualitiy of the pictures themselves are not at all bad, in fact, considering the buggy way this camera works it's amazing you can take good pictures at all. Colors are rich and bright, and should be all the image quality you can ask from a camera, although pictures may turn out blurry, especially in night mode.
I'm giving my money to Sony or Minolta next time I buy a digital camera.

3.0 out of 5 stars No zoom??, September 18, 2005
This review is from: Kodak Easyshare CX7300 3.2 MP Digital Camera and Easyshare Printer Dock (Electronics)
I am pleased with my purchase of the Kodak Easyshare printer dock, but I was surprised that the camera did not have a zoom function on it. I didn't think any camera sold these days is without a zoom function!
