Everything I Could Want,

This review is from: Kodak Easyshare M763 7.2 MP Digital Camera with 3xOptical Zoom (Black) (Electronics)
In preparation for a trip to Europe last August I was looking for a new camera. As we were planning on a lot of walking and packing very light, I wanted a pocket-sized camera. No way was I taking my old Pentax film SLR camera on this trip!
There are many cameras out there that are similar in size and features to the Kodak M763, but most are more money. I have a general policy of not spending more than I have to for electronics, as whatever I buy will be obselete in a few years (witness my previous digital camera, only two and a half years old and positively outclassed by the M763 for only $10 more). I purchased this camera, and was VERY pleased with the pictures I took. It did everything I asked and expected from a pocket camera. Excellent clarity outdoors, with enough zoom capability to allow proper framing of the picture without having to move a great deal. Excellent low-light performance indoors allowing pictures in many circumstances without flash, which avoids the washed-out faces against a black background so common in flash pictures. Face recognition and image stabilization worked well, allowing quality pictures in light conditions I never expected to work. All in all I was extremely happy with my pictures and the ease of use of the Kodak M763, and never felt like I was missing out on features of more expensive cameras. I would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a pocket snapshot camera.

I wanted a digital camera easy to learn and use since this is my first digital. Followed Consumer Reports recommedations and am very pleased with quality and ease of picture taking. Easy on the pocketbook, too.

great product - small package,
This review is from: Kodak Easyshare M763 7.2 MP Digital Camera with 3xOptical Zoom (Blue) (Electronics)
this tiny device has so many great funcitons packed into it. the photos are great quality of course, but I was pleasantly surprised by the video. you can take any video frame and create a still photo from it - and one would expect those photos to be mediocre, but they're great too! I gave it as a gift to a friend who never reads owner's manuals, and he has all but mastered every function within a week of receiving it.

I LOVE this camera!!!!!!! I bought it for a trip to disney world in June and I have taken over 500 pictures with it already. My mom has a Canon Power Shot that she payed over $300 for and whenever she wants good pics she asks if she can borrow my camera. She is going to buy one as soon as the economy gets a little better.

I just got back from vacation and downloaded my pictures and I have to say that the pics came out really good. There were a few that were dark but I did take them in the late afternoon when the natural lighting has just about gone. I think that for the price of this camera it is an acceptable limit for the camera. I think it is a great camera and would recommend it.

Great Price for little Camera,
This review is from: Kodak Easyshare M763 7.2 MP Digital Camera with 3xOptical Zoom (Silver) (Electronics)
Great Price for little camera. Takes beautiful pictures only if there is great light. If there is little light, you have to guess on the shot because the LCD screen does not allow you to see the view very much at all. Zoom is great as long as you don't zoom in more than 3x...grainy. When you take pictures in bright sunl1ight there is a mirror glare. I am in the process of paying a few extra dollars for a camera that would better fit my needs. I wouldn't purchase again.

I bought this camera when we lost our old Kodak 2.4MP camera that we had had for over 3 years. I've had it a bit over a month, and have used it for a variety of situations, indoor and out. I have found it to be very easy to use. It has almost no lag, and can take pictures within a couple seconds of each other. The auto setting does a good job in just about every normal situation, but it has a large amount of custom settings if you need it. It's lightweight, small, and you hardly notice it hanging from your wrist. The battery lasts over two hours with almost continuous use. However, it has a customizable power-saver feature that turns off the camera if you haven't used it for awhile.
It has a movie-taking option, but I haven't used that yet. This camera does everything I need it to do. I love it.

Highly unreliable,

This camera worked well for a couple of years. Now, for some unexplained reason, it won't stay on. The lens extends and the welcome screen comes on and then it just shuts down in a few seconds. It's a common problem if you Google it. I tried some of the fixes that worked for others but it's still not working. What a piece of junk.

Nice little camera for my 13 yr-old daughter. She really liked it. 9 months after purchase, it would turn on, then immediately off. The warranty covered it. 9 months after the repair, the same malfunction reoccurred, now out of warranty. I spoke with customer service to discuss cost. $70, or a 15% discount towards a new one. I told him, point blank, no thanks, it's time for Canon.
On a side note, I took a Colorado River raft trip in 1989, shooting Kodak slide film from the boat. I'd shot slides for years, almost all Kodak, and used their pre-paid mailers for developing. One of these precious river rolls was somehow developed concurrently with someone else's slide roll, essentially double exposing mine and theirs, ruining the roll. I wrote Kodak, just looking for the barest apology, maybe a free roll, but received nothing. I never shot Kodak again.

I got this as a Christmas gift and I must say I love it! It replaced the Olympus Camedia that I had before. There is no comparison between the two, this is sleek and sexy (if a camera can be sexy). The camera is easy to use, and very user friendly. The zoom focus, the face detector, the video mode are all great features. I have taken over 500 pics with it thus far and thousands more to go. :)
