5.0 out of 5 stars Great idea!
I ordered this for the extra rechargeable batteries. The kit comes with the recharger, which plugs directly into the wall, no cords to loose or get tangled up. The batteries charged very quickly, less than 2 hours to fully charge the new batteries.

2.0 out of 5 stars An Ok product
I bought this case thinking it was a travel bag for your camera AND the battery recharger, while there is enough room in the bag for the camera, it isn't shaped in a way that would make it a safe place for a small digital camera. I now carry my camera in a smaller camera bag, and then put it inside this camera case, the battery charger is easy to use, and does have...

This review is from: Kodak Easyshare Travel Kit with Case, 2AA NIMH Battery Pack NIMH and Charger (Electronics)
I ordered this for the extra rechargeable batteries. The kit comes with the recharger, which plugs directly into the wall, no cords to loose or get tangled up. The batteries charged very quickly, less than 2 hours to fully charge the new batteries.

The case is very handy. It has two pockets in the case itself, the smaller one holds the camera very secure. The larger pocket can hold other items you may wish to carry with you when on vacation, eliminating the need for a seperate purse or tote.

The larger pocket can also hold both the docking station and the charger, so you can use this case for storage of the entire camera system, if you so choose.

I would recommend this to anyone who has a Kodak camera, or who has a camera that those batteries will fit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good enough for my needs, October 25, 2003

I have a Kodak CX3660 digital camera, and I bought this travel kit because of two major reasons:

1. I come from Spain, where the voltage is different, and it's usually a problem to find converters from 120V to 240V and viceversa. However, the battery charger included in this kit fulfills my expectations because a) it is a converter in itself, so it can be used with both voltage rates and b) it comes with different international adapter plugs, which means that I'll be able to use the charger in Spain as well.

2. I wanted to have rechargeable batteries. So far, I've had no problems with them. Usually, they are ready in about 2 hours. Plus, I don't have to worry about unplugging the charger after that time because it turns off on its own when the batteries are full. Regarding batteries' life, I must say that they've never failed me in the middle of any of my trips.

However, I was a little bit disappointed with the camera case: trust me, it's not big enough for any Kodak camera (at least not for any of the EasyShare models). Instead, I use it for my digital voice recorder, which is much smaller and fits well in it.

Other than that, the bag has enough room in it to carry both my camera and charger together. Besides, there are two small pockets where I can keep the batteries and the Memory Card.

In conclusion, I guess this is a good item for those of you that live somewhere between two different parts of the globe. Or for those who find yourselves travelling often around the world. On the other hand, if all that you're looking for is a good charger, I would recommend Kodak's rapid charger with 4 AA batteries.

Overall it is a good price, just wish the case was designed better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Charager DOES NOT Charger, April 25, 2005
This review is from: Kodak Easyshare Travel Kit with Case, 2AA NIMH Battery Pack NIMH and Charger (Electronics)
I was impressed with the charger for about 1 month---than it stopped charging the NiMh batteries it came with. I took it back to Best Buy only to find that ALL of the Rapid Chargers on thier shelf did not work either. A sales person and I tested them all, hoping I would be able to exchange my broken one with one that worked.

It was more disappointing after calling Kodak ---they were unable to replace it or get my money back. I thought purchasing a Kodak was a smart decision, however, they did not stand behind their product which was very disappointing.

This charger is listed to work with the DX6490 and DX7590. THIS IS INCORRECT INFO, do not buy you will be returning it or selling it on ebay.

Amazon - you had better correct your error, and soon! The DX7590 is coming out and you don't want to be stuck with many angry customers!

I bought this for my camera, but have found that it is much better to buy individual rechargeable batteries (such as Energizer) and use those with the camera. The Kodak batteries have a short life and eventually hold very little charge. Further, I would recommend buying as small a case as possible for your camera. It makes it much easier to carry the camera around and thus you are much more likely to take pictures. I've taken over 7,000 with my Kodak EasyShare CX4200 and I hope you get to take just as many yourself. Happy Snapping.

This should not be listed as an accessory for the Kodak DX6490 which uses a Li-Ion battery only.

DO NOT BUY THIS. Too much frustration. IT DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY. Either there is something wrong with the battery or charger or the camera itself. Contacted Kodak about it, they sent another set (2AA NIMH Battery Pack NIMH & Charger) for free but still does the same thing. It charges for 10min then the lights go out on the charger indicating its done but when I used it in my DX4900 camera -only gets 3-5 shots then battery dies. I totally gave up.
