I like that the printer has a separate tray for photo paper and that the printer is front load. Then with the 2 sided printing it is just the perfect setup.
In addition to its great aesthetic design, the printer is loaded with amazing features. The WiFi, Google Cloud Print, Print from my iPhone are amazing. My favorite (although seemingly simple) is that they included two trays to hold my 8.5x11 and 4x6 paper!!! This makes life so much easier than having to always switch sizes. The option of the touch screen is great as well. My wife uses this to print from her SD card instead of loading the pictures to her computer first.
Also, the print quality is great from Kodak, and their ink prices can't get any cheaper!!! $24 for a black and color combo. My old EPSON would cost me over $80 for ink.
All around this is one awesome printer. I just can't get over how great it looks. I'm so happy with this product. I totally recommend getting one of your own.
the imaging is exact.
prints pictures beautifully and the colors are exact.
the best part of owning a kodak printer is the ink!
the printer is used a lot , for school and business at home , so when purchasing ink , its easy and affordable. black cartridge and a color cartridge , thats it!
the other manufacturers charge way too much and way too many cartridges to choose.
great work kodak !
Easy setup. Unpacking, untaping, loading print head and ink, calibration, software installation took just under an hour. The included CD prompted to automatically go online to get the latest driver and firmware - a nice touch.
The printer looks great, nice fit and finish and easy to navigate, bright touch screen menu. Loading the ink and paper was intuitive and easy, much like my previous Canon Optima printer.
The output is worse than expected for a Kodak mid-line photo printer. The colors are not even close to what's on my screen. Admittedly, this is not unusual. But skin tones are uneven, with hilights blown to white and there is no saturation of color. In fact, I used photoshop to increase saturation (+25!) and the photo output hardly changed. There seems to be a greenish cast to photos. The one black and white photo I printed is sharp but darker than what appears on my screen and lacking some detail in the dark areas.
I think this printer would be a good solution for my children's homework papers where color fidelity is not so important and (presumably) the ink cost is lower than other printers. As an amateur photographer, there is no way I can continue to use this for prints I wish to frame or show off to others.
More info and updates to this review as I get more experience with the printer.
UPDATE 1/6/12: I've printed a decent amount of pictures since the initial review, and still haven't had to change the ink cartridge. The ink level monitor shows them both as being about 3/4 full. It's a mystery.
Setup was easy. Features and machine aesthetics are great. Easy to use. The separate tray for photo paper was the reason I chose this model over the 5.1 printer. The larger touchscreen is also an advantage. But the claim kodak makes for their inks being least expensive to replace? The color cartridge is already tapped after only printing around ten pictures. (Although I have no complaints about the quality of said pictures.) At 20 bucks a pop, that's 2 bucks a print, (not adding in the cost of paper). Not sure that sits too well with me. I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong, or that I'm able to find a better price for ink. Perhaps a generic compatible? Even here on amazon you only save 2 dollars each color cartridge. Other than that sort of major fault, I'm quite happy with the printer itself.

I hate this printer. If the colour cartridge needs to be replaced, you are NOT going to print in black & white. Read morePublished 14 days ago by Lorna Schinske
