4.0 out of 5 stars If Speed Is Not The Issue, June 18, 2002

This review is from: Kodak MAX K200 Battery Charger with 2 AA Batteries (Electronics)
If you need a good battery charger and getting the charge overnight is not the issue, then this Kodak K200 is a decent low cost charger. It is compatible with AA, AAA and Ni-Cad batteries, capable of up to 4 batteries at a time. The charge period does take at least 8 hours (overnight), but does have an auto off timer, so you don't have to worry about leaving it plugged in for a longer period of time. Also included in a peak voltage shutdown feature.

If you need a fast recharge in about 3 hours, then you should look at the Kodak K2000 for a few bucks more. But if an overnight charge is acceptable, then save a few bucks and get the K200.

1.0 out of 5 stars Questionable durability, July 28, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Kodak MAX K200 Battery Charger with 2 AA Batteries (Electronics)
I've seen other posts indicating their K200 broke after limited use. Same thing happened with mine... green lights no longer light up and batteries don't charge. This after limited use. Further, Kodak's website is useless vis a vis support: no user guide, no information about known problems, no troubleshooting. They really should support the products that they sell better.

Product unquestionably is an unmitigated piece of junk. My only further complaint is that this site doesn't have ratings that go into negative territory, because that's what this product deserves; 1 star is an overstatement.

In short, buy something else.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good little inexpensive charger, February 20, 2004

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kodak MAX K200 Battery Charger with 2 AA Batteries (Electronics)
I have used the K200 charger for about a year with good results. However, it comes with an inadequate user's guide, and I haven't found any additional information on Kodak's site. The "auto-off" timer would seem to indicate that batteries are protected from overcharging. However, the unit does heat up when plugged in, and the user's guide states that it should be unplugged after 8 hours. If that's the case, it should include a built-in beeper! Several times, I've left it plugged in for a couple days, with no apparent harm to batteries or charger.
