4.0 out of 5 stars It worked with my Palm m105

1.0 out of 5 stars Big Disappointment in a Small Package
This device is touted as compatible with the m105 Palm device...but it isn't. When attached, I get nothing but a blank screen and a low-battery indicator. A little jiggling around and there's almost a picture -- but no!

I bought this thinking that an earlier buyer with a similar problem must have made some silly mistake. Because Kodak says this will work with the...

I recently entered the Handheld world (a Palm m105) and thought buying the camera would be an inexpensive way to take digital pictures. I read reviews stating that the camera would not work with the m105, but after much trepidation, decided to buy it anyway.

I run a Mac operating system, and the camera works well on it. I had some problems finding the pictures on my hard drive, but I called the (800) number for Kodak, and a representitive assisted me in finding my photos.

As far as the quality of photos, I bought it to take pictures of my wife and children to e-mail to the grandparents. It works great for that. It is easy to use, although sometimes the pictures are blurry. I don't expect to win any photo contests with it, but that's not what I bought it for.

Well. I'll be believing my fellow buyers a little more in the future.

This purchase is a huge disappointment. I put a lot of thought into making it and decided to take the leap. Too bad I didn't have better information about the product.

I hope other potential buyers will be aware enough to avoid my mistake.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for fun., January 24, 2002

Don't expect too much from the camera and enjoy!
It have some serios disadvantages:
1. The pictures blured near the sides of pictures.
2. Digital zoom is just joke. The Palmpix takes a part of 640x480 image and extend it to 320x240 image.
3. To make good indoor picture you MUST have a good light.
4. Image trasfer from PalmPix to Palm takes time.
5. Also images transfer from Palm to PC is time consuming process.

But I think it is good add-on to unexpensive Palm. You don't have to carry several devices and make your Palm like simple photo-camera.

This is a very good product for having a palm with a camera. I found that this is not the replacement of traditional digital cameras, thought its good to have for the parties, conferences, meetings!

Works AOK with my m105. Image quality is only fair, but all in all a handy gadget, great for the price. I'd highly reccomend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but lack quality, December 24, 2000
This review is from: Kodak PalmPix Digital Camera for Palm m100 series Handhelds (Office Product)
I'll make this one short but nice. Quality is not that good because sometimes it gets blured for some ubknown reasons, maybe its very sensittive to motion that even slight motion will screw it up. But some times it's ok even if i move...no idea why. Another thing is that it shows wrong memory count. Me and my friend both brought a palm Pix at another place, he has a 1.5 megabyte of ram left in his balm and I had 4. Both somes that we can only take 16 high res pictures and on his, after taking 2, he has no space to put any more but low res pictures... Plus, I found a weird problem that it i can only store 2 megabytes of pictures in a 3 megabyte space. This is because when I hotsynced my pics,I compared the amout of pics to the amout of ram I have left in there. I think there is some serious bugs in their palm software.

On the up side, it's very fun to use and very portable. Instead of 2 individual devices, now I have one. It's also fun to use. Just take picture anywhere, and keep it for ever. The batterys lasts long time, I toke like 80 pictures and battery is still almost full in my palmpix. It also does not drain alot of the Palm's battery either since it uses it's own. LCD and Serial linke is the only source of drain.

I was suprised that it toke better than expected picture in very low light conditions, which is a plus since it doesn't come with a flash..but don't expect too much tho.

Over all, this is enjoyable if you are looking for some cheap thing to capture your memories, if you want quality pics.....for get it. Last thing is that this thing is still abit too expensive for what it has to offer.

This is just a cool little gadget to have for your palm.

ATTN M105 Users or Any users with problems.
Here's some help though if your having problems:
I had problems at first but what you need to do is backup all your information. Then do a HARD RESET: AFter that Don't re-load anything back onto your palm EXCEPT the PalmPix Program (goto the program files folder and then delete all the .prc files so they won't go back on or just move them for now) Then re-load the other programs, this is what I had to do and have since had NO problems.

If you are limited in your Palm expertise, then don't be confused like me. I assumed since this camera was for the Palm 100 series that it would connect to a Palm m130. It does not. The units have different pin connection systems and there are no adapters that I could find. Otherwise the unit appeared neat, though I did not get to use it.
