A review about the actual printer,

This review is from: Kodak Professional 8500 Digital Photo Printer - Printer - color - thermal wax/resin/dye sublimation - 8 in x 10 in up to 1.2 min/page (color) - capacity: 50 sheets - Parallel, USB (Electronics)
This review discusses the actual printer and not the shipper or my buying experience.I have had the opportunity to use the Kodak 8500 to develop my home pictures. My FH20's pictures printed wonderfully. The higher DPI is clearly present and the printing speed is not as bad as I thought. If you can find this printer, the quality is probably the best you will find for under 1000 USD. If you are considering a 7+ MP camera and want great quality shots, this is the way to go. THE BIGGEST ISSUE WITH THIS PRINTER: As of September 30, 2005 Kodak announced that this product was discontinued with support ending in 2008 (approximately).

I ordered an 8500 printer in February I requested a delivery in early March paid 265.00 after further checking I then paid the extra 50.00 for a paper kit and 3 year warranty. When the printer came it came missing all the parts associated with it and the paper kit came 3 days later. I emailed and talked with them and they told me to re-order the item costing another 305.00 They send a pre paid return form for me and I sent the unit back and kept the paper kit, after they got my return and they re-sent my replacement I had everything to start work. After I told them that they sent the wrong paper kit to me the 2nd time I was glad I kept the kit from the 1st order. Now I can do my work. After about a week they only credited my for 165.00 on the returned item 120.00 less than what I paid for because of keeping the paper kit. And they only charged 50.00 extra for the paper kit and 3 year warranty. Thus this item has NOW cost me over 420.00 for a 265.00 printer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!and a month of aggrivation..... and constant emails. LOOK ELSEWHERE to BUY a PRINTER
