This is a good resource guide for identifying nishikigoi, August 8, 1999

This review is from: Koi Varieties: Japanese Colored Carp-Nishikigoi (Hardcover)
Dr. Axelrod seems to have put together another good resource guide for the koi collector. People who are novice koi collectors would enjoy this book. It shows some of the different varieties of collectable koi as well as some show winning koi in Japan. While reading this book, I notice that it was similiar to all the other Dr. Axelrod books. It seem as though he reuses the content over and over again, as with all of his books. I found that his pictures describing show winning koi were a little out dated. Like all books its a little behind the times, about ten to be exact. You could find better updated info in Koi Magazines. All in all, this book can be used as a resource guild for identifying Nishikigoi.
