I watched all three seasons of Koihime Musou this summer and it is one of the best anime's I've ever seen even if it's story didn't follow the original visual novel. This anime is highly reccommended! Filled with action, adventure, comedy, drama (and possibly for you fans of erotic content...sweat drop c>) and fun! You won't be disappointed! This is a must see! If you played Dynasty Warriors, then you'll get a kick out of a series that turns most of the male warriors and warlords into females! "My Battalion! My Otome!" Koihime Musou is a worthy collection to add to any anime collection! Move over Sailor Moon! The girls in Koihime Musou will kick your a**! The new female warriors fighting for love and justice are here and will hopefully stay and become popular! Contains the first 12 episodes of the first season and like all Sentai DVD's, you'll find almost little extra material with only textless opening and ending animations along with some trailers. Now that we all know this DVD will be arriving soon (Unfortunately on the day when Christmas break is over...) we can look forward to the English dub of Clannad After story, hopefully coming real soon! Hopefully the Visual Novel game will be released in America for PC or the PS2! For more reccomendations, check out the anime legends: Kanon, Air and Clannad!

I had no idea what to expect from ancient Chinese warriors being turned into action girls, what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. The series starts off on a somewhat serious note, but does delve more into the comedy as the series progresses, but that's not to say that there aren't serious moments later on. Almost every episode introduces a new character, if not several. There's alot going on in this show. It's episodic so each episode is like its own mini-adventure, while episodes 11 & 12 are a two-parter. I loved the show's whimsical feel. My only complaint was that the bad guy at the end was a disappointing villain and I couldn't believe that he almost got the best of the heroines. The OVA takes ALL of the characters (except the disappointing villain) and puts them in the setting of a modern high school, during the competition to determine the new student council. Who will be victorious? Just watch. If you're a fan of Koihime Muso then you might ask the question: What inspired such a series? And the answer is an eroge game released by MangaGamer; the anime chose to remove the the male protagonist, so that this series is all about the girls, which I see as an improvement.

Before Hua Mulan, before Wu Zetian, China bore another great hero, one whose true name was lost to history... until now. Swearing vengeance after bandits destroy her family and village, a girl named Aisha takes the Kan'u and sets forth on a journey that will take her across the ruins of a great nation living not as a woman "should," but by the strenght of her own sword and the steel of her own will. And as she travils, her courage and example become a beacon to other kindred souls: women who dare to shatter the shackles of ther own traditions and take up arms, to become a force for change. Now, as a new world begins to emerge from the embers of the old, the face of evil must confront tis ultimate nemesis, a girl who has become the soul of a new people. An epic battle for the fate of a nation will be unleashed in the complete epic colletion of Koihime Muso! Its inglish subtitle

Koihime Musou is a loose, oh-so-incredibly-loose, adaptation of the legendary novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms." The first thing that might strike you about this show is that all the characters (yes, every single one) are female. Think of it as a counter-balance, and complete reversal, of shows like Kaiji and Akagi, where every single character is male. (That's how I justify it to myself, anyway.) Our main heroine, Kanu, embarks on a mission of justice and virtue. I think. Along the way, she helps many a troubled soul, and meets a wide variety of people, some of which join her on her journey. And boy, are there a lot of characters; and I do mean a lot. Your head will likely be spinning before the end of the first season. Forget about trying to keep every name straight in your head. (Especially if you, like me, don't speak Japanese..) Luckily, character designs happen to be Koihime Musou's strong suit. Every single character is meticulously crafted, from the intricate outfits, extravagant hair-styles and colorful personalities, you'll never find yourself bored watching, or listening to, the series' myriad of characters. Given that the show has an all-female cast which numbers in the dozens, this will likely appeal easiest to men; but I think anyone should be able to appreciate the attention to detail and sheer volume of variety that went into the character designs.

I shan't beat around the bush any longer; this show is sexy. Really, really sexy. However, I never found it to be lecherous or overly deviant. The sexuality is almost always balanced with a healthy dose of humor, cuteness and self-awareness on the side of the show.
