Editorial Reviews

You've heard of Mulan, you may have heard of Wu Zetian, but even before those legendary lady warriors, the soil of Ancient China had proved fertile ground for the cultivation of an elite force of ferociously female fighters! The saga begins as a girl named Aisha takes on the name Kan'u and sets forth on a journey that inspires others to shatter the shackles of their own tradition and take up the way of the sword. And once you and the girls have accomplished one heroic quest, how do you top it except by taking up another? And then another! (Some epochs it just seems like a woman's work is never done!) All three epic adventures in the spectacular Koihime Muso series, including the OVAs, are collected together at last as the ancient epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms takes on an unexpected new look and some very feminine curves in KOIHIME MUSO - THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION!

Highly recommended for a romp into light entertainment.

All of the characters have their traits from the visual novel and all of the dark elements from the novel are changed and even made light of.
Pokedude
Once I received both items I simply placed the discs in the nice 6 disc case and placed the cover art through the case sleeve.

The Three Kingdom era of China started at the collapse of the Han Dynasty near the end of the second century,in western time, and, much as the western world's Dark Ages, legends and heros were born, heroic deeds performed and the stories have been retold for nearly two thousand years, with a few modifications,of course. In this series, all but one of the heroes are female, wearing costumes not relavent to any era,( quite frankly, the costumes are a bit idiotic)and all having names of characters of the several other series based, ever so loosley on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The era existed, the characters (mostly) existed but,in all likleyhood, not all the adventures really occured;in fact doubtful any really happened. Most of the names are the same as those in the Ikki Tousen series and those names and persons appear in other more factual stories of that era.
This series is not for those that are seeking historical knowledge,it is for entertainment and,to that end,it is surpisingly well-done.Not for those below the ages of 14 or 15 as it has a lot of nudity but, thankfully, there are only two,as I recall,almost-sex scenes, both yuri and by women that are clearly adults. There is a number of bath scenes...a lot of bath scenes...where everybody is fully exposed, even those that are or seem to be pre-teens. At no time are there any sexual references nor advances involving anyone known or suspected to be a minor although two of the co-stars,clearly minors, are hung-up on a breast competion;two triple-A cuppers arguing over breast development has to be a "bone" tossed to the lolitaphile bunch.
This series is funny and quite pleasant to watch. The music, especially for the third season is catchy and well-performed.

I went online and finally found a review on this ultimate collection and found out that the discs were all on one single spindle and like a cushion to keep them from moving around. I didn't like that but I wanted this series for so long and when I knew I could get all three for a lower price than spending much more for each one individually it was perfect. Anyway what I did was I ordered a 6 disc dvd case from One Stop Outlet here on Amazon.com, and got ten cases for a low price. Once I received both items I simply placed the discs in the nice 6 disc case and placed the cover art through the case sleeve. I did find out that the cover was a tad to big but all I needed to do was cut a small strip off the back cover without taking to much of the art off and simply slid it in there and it fit perfectly.
