Beautiful Bassinet! Happy Mom!, May 25, 2009
This review is from: Kolcraft Contours Classique 3-in-1 Bassinet (Baby Product)
Received this bassinet as a gift from my mother. It is absolutely beautiful. The dark wood and the cream/beige colored fabrics really compliment each other. The fact that it is not only a bassinet, but a changing table as well is great. There is storage below (lined baskets) and on the side (diaper stacker/misc. compartments). The moses basket is removable so you can take baby anywhere. There are only two drawbacks to this unit: 1 - The universal bassinet sheets (found in most stores) do not fit on this model. This mattress is much longer than the average bassinet so you will only have the one sheet that it comes with. So, receiving blankets used in the meantime while the sheet is being washed will have to do. 2 - The diaper stacker is not as sturdy as I would have liked. I only have newborn diapers in it right now, not even filled to the brim, yet it bows a bit in the center. Should have at least a hard cardboard piece in the fabric to provide more support. Other than that, I would highly recommend this bassinet to anyone. It's a nice change to the older "plastic" models and all of their frilly fabrics. This bassinet goes along with our own home decor (colors are gender neutral) and does not look out of place. I am a very happy mom!!

This bassinet is okay. Setup was okay. The moses basket is big and gives plenty room for baby. It looks nice but you get over that quick. What i didn't like was the diaper holder. It is held on by velcro only. Also I found the changer an inconvenience as you would have to remove the moses basket every time for a change. The changing piece is stored under the moses basket as you see in the picture. When you wanna change baby you'd have to take it out and snap it onto the top. The moses basket is a bit large for me to carry around since im petite. Overall this bassinet is good but if I could choose another one, I would.

Read Before Buying, October 2, 2009
This review is from: Kolcraft Contours Classique 3-in-1 Bassinet (Baby Product)
I bought this beautiful bassinet for my son, who is now 2 1/2 weeks old. It's a great value for the money since it offers great flexibility and usability. Before you buy, however, there are a few things to know about this product. 1. *Universal sheets do not fit.* We solved this issue thanks to a great tip from the amazing nurses at our hospital. Simply slide a pillow case over the mattress pad! It's an economical and practical solution (and would probably work for any bassinet pad). 2. *The casters are lousy.* The manufacturer cut some corners with the useless plastic caster wheels on the bottom. Pulling the bassinet from the bedroom to the living room required a driver's license because the dang things barely move and when they do, they inevitably go in different directions. Another easy fix: my husband popped out the crappy ones and replaced them with $10 rubber wheel casters from the hardware store in about 5 minutes. 3. *The changing pad clips are awful.* The changing pad has flimsy plastic slide-on clips that are meant to snap onto the top of the bassinet to convert it into a changing table. Those were not only inconvenient but also seemed to be a safety issue because I was sure they would snap while my son was on the table. I pulled those off and just place the changing pad right on top of the bassinet. More often than not, though, I throw the pad onto the sofa or bed to change my son (if he's asleep in the bed, do you really want to pick him up, move a pad on top with one hand, and then put him on it? Meh. Too much one-armed work for me.). Oh, and be forewarned that the pad is not soft or warm. A receiving blankie or cloth diaper does the trick. The good part is that is is very large and waterproof -- perfect size for a boy, if you know what I mean. ;-P Overall, my husband and I are very happy with this purchase & feel we've already gotten our money's worth after just two weeks. I yank this bassinet around the house all day long. Having the diapering stuff, some clothes, a changing table, and a bed right next to you whether you're eating dinner or sleeping at night is a huge convenience.
